Since the American people have denied the first round of Obamacare, and their subsequent loses afterwards still didn’t reach through to them that people do not want more government control in their HC, that doesn’t stop these morons from trying again.  This time it’s their tactic to get insurance companies to raise their premiums so people will demand government actions.

“President Obama is making a fresh attempt to rescue his health care overhaul by proposing a measure that would allow the government to deny or roll back egregious insurance premium increases that infuriate consumers.”

Ah yes, more government regulations are needed.  Yeah, that has worked out real well hasn’t it?

Michelle Malkin pointed out another great proposal:

“However, the administration official said the government’s regulatory powers would not be diminished or eliminated once the government-run insurance exchanges are fully operational.”

Of course they won’t give up their power, that is the goal of these people is to regulate the industry.

ISPs? I'm sure the Gov't would love to control the Internet just like China does. You know, to save children from bad websites and abductions and stuff. To save people from being scammed and even getting viruses. I'm sure many out there would be dumb enough to believe the Govt should control the iInternet to avoid such things.

you mean, dumb enough to believe that if the Govt would control the internet it will be able to stop such things.

In most cases, people would be dumb enough period.

Personally, I think Obama and friends want the insurance company's to throw their arms up and quit. It will be that much easier for the government to move in and "lend a helping hand". They want that pubic option so bad, they are willing to destroy private insurance in the process.

I agree BO would be thrilled if they all said, "Screw it, we're outta here."  Mission accomplished.

Probably be singin' a different tune if all the big insurance companies were union shops, though, wouldn't he?

That IS the whole point of many aspects of the bill. In fact some senior democrats have outright SAID so. Not so much a "screw it we are leaving" as a "we went bankrupt". First, bankrupt insurance with the "public option", then "bail them out" (aka, nationalize)

Yep!  Pretty much what they have been doing with Banks.
