I see that Adobe released Photoshop Elements 8 recently. Has anyone purchased and tried this? I heard there were some significant improvements and wanted to hear some opinions on it.

I got Elements 2.0 free with a Vid card [or something]...and have used that ever since....[it tends to handle printing jobs better than PSP 6]....
never tried elements ever. seriously.
Mmm. I trust that it's good and useful, but I needed too many functions from the full version.
on 7 here.....not planning to upgrade anytime soon
Hello ID,
I tried the Trail-Version of Photoshop Elements 8 and i must say it's awseome. Everything i wanted to try worked perfectly. I tried the full Version too (Photoshop CS4) but i didn't need the functions of CS4, so I think Elements 8 is great for Rookies like me or for those who are hobby-graphic-designers.
The Price is more than ok, maybe i buy it.
Photoshop Elements 8 is the best garphic-suite i tried 'till now!
[sorry, my english is a little rusty ]
My wife recently ordered a copy for her use at home. She's turned into a bit of an amateur photobug, so the rather limited stuff she had available was upsetting.
Her opinion? She loves it. Pretty easy to use, layout's nice and tight. Tools that she needs are available and easy to understand.
When a "non-computer person" (her words) can install and go, it's a winner in my book.
The only drawback is the printing. When printing images, it doesn't store the last settings used, but always goes back to the default modes. When their default mode is a 1200 DPI setting that sends our little DJ2500 series printer into catatonic fits ... well, it's a little annoying. But she likes the rest of it so much that she's more than willing to overlook that one annoying little quirk.
The time to try it is now if you're thinking about it. Newegg has it on Shellshocker until noon Pacific time
normally $90 USD currently $46
