You might have seen screenshots and articles for the past couple of weeks showing off the hybrid .dream “Vintage”.  This is an elegant and subtle. dream with several layers that can be hidden to make the animated wallpaper even more subtle.

The Vintage .dream is included with DeskScapes 3, which you can find more information here.  Also in the Vintage series we have the Vintage MyColors theme.  This theme stays true to the classic Vintage concept, and includes a visual style, wallpaper, icons, and weather gadget.

Very nice theme and dream.  I will ask before someone else does, is this a subscriber theme?

I will now duck.

Yes. If you are a Object Desktop subscriber you can get the Vintage My Colors Theme at a Reasonable Price. Just purchased it,and I love it.

I noticed that theme on the MyColors site about a week or so ago and was surprised that I had not seen some promotion of it here.

It is a very nice looking theme    Kudos to all involved in its creation

Anyone know if it's availible as a Theme Manager suite instead of My Colors?

OK Great what happened to being able to use this with Win7? Any word about that? Would be nice!

Gotta go with the hope for a theme option.

I'm not interested in using My Colors.

Not to mention that it's been stated (in other forum posts) that My Colors packages will be provided as themes, also.

I'm using the deskscape background and it's quite nice. The theme looks very nice, also, but not worth using My Colors for.

I really like the dream in this and would like to have the skin. It would most likely look OK on Windows 7 but using win 7 myself just can't purchase it since it's not skinned for 7. From all the post in the forums there appears to be many people now on win 7. We have been flooded with free subscriber skins in the past month. This is very nice but again nothing has been skinned for win 7. Now I'm only going by what I have read as I don't make skins myself, but it has been mentioned many times that if you have a skin for vista than there isn't a lot of extra work needed to make it for 7. I'm in no way knocking the wonderful work just saying I would have purchased the Vintage skin if it was skinned for 7 and the fact that it would maybe look OK isn't quite enough for something I would be paying for.

Typically, skins that work on Vista work on 7.  A lot of them don't technically need updates to make them "Win7" skins.

If you have Object Desktop, but the Object Desktop discount theme.  It comes with a MyColors version, and also has an extra download for the Theme Manager theme.

Thank you and I understand they work. I have used skins that don't include the 7 update and will most likely use them again. There is a difference however and all I was saying is that I'm now using win 7 so if I'm going to pay for something I might as well wait till it's totally skinned for 7. As I mentioned above it has nothing to do with all the talented skinners out there and as soon as they install win 7 things will get caught up. I'm not upset at anyone but it's just my opinion that at least the Stardock skins that are now coming out should be skinned for 7 as I know they have been using 7. Really it's not that big of a deal just expressing my thoughts for something that has to be purchased.

I really like the combination of the MyColors theme and the Dream on this, and I'm usually not a huge retro fan. This all comes together great! I've been sitting here staring at it, keep seeing little movements in the dream that I hadn't noticed, I really like the way the dream is done. Seems like the MyColors theme kind of begs for its own little clock here though, maybe something similar to the clock on the front of the building, to me its almost obvious in its absence. Then of course I get distracted by a bird or something and I forget all about it    I like the WB part of it too, especially the status bar and title bars and the way the button lie on them, and of course the wallpaper. Nice job all the way around!

I did this, and have used the .suite file that was available. I like the theme (very nice graphics and skin coverage), and it works fine on Win7 (no issues, and I'm guessing that if there are any updates, they'll be made available as usual).

One minor nit to pick, though, for those who aren't OD subscribers:

From the way KarmaGirl's post was worded, it appears that if you don't have OD, you're stuck having to use MyColors.
Which seems pretty silly. Even Brad said (in his post about 'Tough Love for Object Desktop') that all future content would be available as a theme, which also implies that it would also be available to anyone who at least had Theme Manager (though the independent parts should still be usable, if desired), and would not require 'MyColors'.

Given the stated future direction of Stardock, for suites and themes (and so on), why are you still packaging these as MyColors themes at all? What's the point? Keep it (as Brad mentions) for your enterprise and OEM efforts, and get rid of it entirely here.

I'm running windows7 and it works great on this 64-bit machine
