The latest DeskScapes 3 has a new feature called Effects.  This is where you can apply a variety of effects to your .dreams, giving them a whole new look!

I love these FX.  Will these be applicable to non-video dreams, like PhotoDream, etc. in an upcoming beta/release?

Yes!

All the effects apply to ALL dreams right now and have done since the effects tab showed up in Deskscapes 3.

Neilio, that's a negatory, good buddy!

In the first iterations of Deskscapes 3, turning on any effect with any dynamic .dream (ovals, photodream, etc.) would break the preview window and not work at all with your real desktop .dream.

In the latest iteration, effects work as expected in the preview, but the dynamic dreams still fail to work with the desktop.  Currently, they play for second or so and then pause/fail/erase/otherwise break, depending on the dynamic dream.

I've tested this with Vista 32 and Windows 7 64 and the results are the same...ergo broken.

So while the beta is getting closer and closer, it's still got a lil ways to go.

Cheers to the new stuff though!

PS I guess that means I am officially reporting this bug to you fine gentlemen. hehe

Surely 'Effects' are a great enhancement for Dreams and some of them indeed work very well !!

Infact some of them can change the whole effect or colors of the dream

For eg. I tried out the "Rainbow" and "Inverted" effect on my Alpha Codes dream

where the color of the alphabets changes with the rainbow effect and the color of the whole dream gets

inverted with the second effect so that the normal black background changes to white !!

My Special thanks to the developer for introducing such a great concept

I'm sure I'd love the Effects too, BUT, I cannot install DeskScapes 3 as yet.
Why, you ask?  Well, I purchased TheMasterBarons Dream Manager,
and have become addicted to it, as in can't do without it.
However, apparently being able to doubleclick a .Dream file was removed in version 3,
thusly preventing Dream Manager from working.

So PLEASE, whosoever is in charge or DeskScapes, re-add support for clickable .Dream files,
so Baron can update Dream Manager to work with DeskScapes 3.

Can you apply several effects at once? Snow+Sepia?

Hmm just curious why on every dream I have the snow is black that's falling. It shows that way in the preview and for real. I'm on Vista atm with it, haven't tried it on Win7.

Zubaz,

The Vista 32 machine is a dual core Intel Sony laptop with 8400M nvidia onboard graphics (w/101.28 drivers), 3 gb ram, etc.

The Windows 7 64 machine is a quad core Intel with 8 gb ram and one Nvidia 295 card (three monitor outs, w/190.62 drivers).

Both machines are running the latest Deskscapes beta as well as the latest WindowBlinds 7 beta.  The Windows 7 machine is also running the latest Fences beta.

I think that's the only useful/relevant info.  Did you need more, sir?

I love the flip and the porthole functions as they leave room for the icons where the space is needed, the eye candy FX are great fun to experiment with too - all in all a new dimension to this awesome programme.

Not at this time.
