Ironclad Games and Stardock Entertainment are pleased to announce pre-orders for the upcoming Sins of a Solar Empire micro-expansion, Diplomacy. After 25 years of war, some elements of the TEC, Vasari and Advent have grown weary of conflict and desperately seek a respite. The decision is made to attempt peaceful negotiations to end the wars, but others view this new effort at diplomacy as the perfect means to destroy their enemies from within.

Sins of a Solar Empire: Diplomacy will add a new Diplomacy tech tree, new envoy cruisers, the ability to issue missions to other players, trade pacts, an entirely new relationship system, deadlier pirates and more.

For those of us with TotalGaming.net tokens left will we be able to use them for this expansion?

on Sep 16, 2009

Will pre-ordering get us in the beta as well?

Playing the beta would be a nice boost to my level of Sins excitement.

Would you perhaps rate your level of excitement as approaching... 11?

I assume it will be the same as for Entrenchment - pre-order = access to beta (provided you preorder before the beta is released)

on Sep 16, 2009

Why is this the last micro-expansion? I thought there were three?!
I was looking forward to the aggressive combat based one!

on Sep 16, 2009

When I get home tonight, Im so ordering!

on Sep 16, 2009

sweet! preordered. To confirm, it's now necessary to have entrenchment to be able to play diplomacy or is that just a typo? I seem to remember it was said that they(the micro-expansions) could be mixed and mashed however we wanted? Perhaps it was changed now that we only get two?

*Eagerly anticipating beta*

Im so happy for the ability to give AI missions. It was annoying how they could give us missions, but how we couldn't do the same for them. 'Deadlier Pirates' sounds interesting, especially for mid-late game raids when you have such massive and diverse fleets that pirates become more of a minor poke with a spoon as opposed to a legitimate threat that they can be early game.

IIRC They changed plans, the expansion after Diplomacy won't be "micro".

on Sep 16, 2009

right, we should be happy that they won't have any more "micro" expansions.  I know I'm eager to have a macro expansion

but diplomacy 1st I suppose.

I would pre-order, but my Impulse can't open the shopping cart page, and i'd rather not buy it trough impulsedriven.com

on Sep 17, 2009

Pre-ordered.

I dont really care for diplomacy at all, but SoaSE is so good they really deserve the money.

And better pirates do excite me

@ToJKa:

they are both the same. impulse's shopping page is just a different UI for IE (7 or 8 i don't know). that is unless there's been a major change??

buying though the website should work just as well and providing you use the same email adderss as you use for your impulse account your purchase will be automatically entered and ready to download with out you having to paste keys and stuffs.

@Osiris:

i'm was feeling pretty much the same, you are right though, they do deserve the money. now where can i get some....

on Sep 17, 2009

ahh...thanks for the clarification. Where did you guys hear this? I want to stay up to date (Sins is my number one game) and I hadn't heard any of that. Thank you!

on Sep 17, 2009

i do care for better diplomacy A LOT! and have pre-ordered.

Does this mean we get to beta test the public soon?
