Stardock is pleased to announce that the Ready to Play beta is about to begin.  Ready to Play is a revolutionary new program that enables gamers to create an on-line gaming profile of themselves after which Ready to Play will produce a “recommended friends” list.  Then, when the player is ready to play a particular game, they can broadcast to any available friends or recommended friends that they are about to launch a particular game and join in.

“If you’ve ever had a bad experience playing a PC game online, Ready to Play is for you,” said Brad Wardell, President & CEO of Stardock. “As a 38 year old, father of 3 with very little free time, my gaming profile is quite a bit different from say a 15 year old whose primary concern on a given game is maxing out their win/loss ratio.  Ready to Play lets me quickly find people online who have similar gaming preferences and get games going.”

Ready to Play supports more than just Stardock games. As part of the new Impulse update, Ready to Play supports third party games, even games not on Impulse.

“In our own testing, some of the best fun we’ve had is getting together with people to play older games,” said Wardell. “A lot of times, older games don’t have huge active online communities anymore or if they do, they’re dominated by hard core players who know intricate strategies that occasional players do not.  With Ready to Play, you just get together with friends or recommended friends and can have a great gaming experience.”

Darn! although this is also cool, I have to agree that title was a little sneaky in the Elemental news folder.  I was kinda hoping Elemental beta did start because I have 12 days of vacation time!!  That means serious play time!!
