I know some people have a hard time figuring out the Obama job numbers, mainly because most of it is pure BS which the media never calls him on.

Here is a video which should help.

The video effectively creates a causality link between the stimulus and the additionnal lost jobs compared to prediction.

Could it be that the predictions were mostly wrong?

Nice way of demonstrating it.

I wonder if it can be a lie if Obama said it.

Could it be that even Obama admits he can not accomplish what he promised? Last I heard Obama claims he will create 600,000 jobs during the summer but that many of them will simply be summer gigs. Are those the job creations he spoke of?

option 1: the prediction was BS and obama was feeding us lies to get his way.

option 2: the prediction was accurate and this proves that the stimulous has actually harmed the economy more than doing nothing at all...

Off course it can be. But I have a hard time to believe that the President actually genuinely lied intentionnaly to the public about that.

For that matter, I don't believe Bush purposely lied about the invasion if Iraq either (or for most of the things people accuse him of lying about). He was given wrong intelligence, and he took the best decision based on his own guts and what he's been told was the best one.

Same thing for Obama. I'll wait another year before taking judgement of Obama. When the mid-mandate elctions will be nearing

I do too.

The difference is that was Bush was told and what Bush said was also what everybody else said at the time.

Bush was able to "lie" by making a claim that everybody else also made.

I'll wait until Obama actually does something. I doesn't look as if a year is enough time for that.

No, I think he actually believed it. Like most good-hearted liberals he has only a feeble and very romantic understanding of the economy.

option 2: the prediction was accurate and this proves that the stimulous has actually harmed the economy more than doing nothing at all...

I tend to think this was the case.

on Jun 11, 2009

I also tend to think it was number 2... but those are the ONLY two options and NEITHER bodes well.

He wouldn't be the first incompetent President.

And so far he is MUCH better than Carter.

Really? I'm not seeing it that way.

on Jun 11, 2009

well... as far as I can see he is doing a lot worse than any other president in the history of the US. But that is because he is failing to deal with some specific really REALLY bad situations (ex: almost nuclear iran). He might not be the most incompetent president in US history, but his results are going to be the worst.

Because results after 6 months in office are ennough to judge his entire presidency?

Come on. Bush was criticised horribly too until 9/11. Give the man at least a year to get a proper feeling.

On a relevant topic, Iran is having elections today. The moderates have a shot at it, and the news here are saying that the Guardians of the Revolution issued a statement that they will "nip in the bud" any "Moderate Revolution" of their own.

Seems like not all hope is lost in that country

Has a major ally transformed into an Israel-hating evil empire yet?

Nope. The only one we have is still the one Carter left us with.

Yes, the man who wants to destroy Israel might be replaced with the other man who wants to destroy Israel. (Or, if we are lucky, but this is really unlikely, with that other other man who wants to destroy Israel.)
