One of the most asked about applications is ObjectDock.  Specifically, people have been wanting to know about ObjectDock 2.0.  Some have speculated that we have simply given up on ObjectDock, and that is simply not so.  It is in development, but since it is early there is no time estimate about release, nor about upgrading.

First off, what is ObjectDock?

Objectdock is a smoothly-animated, customizable 'shelf' on which you can place shortcuts, docklets, system tray icons, and view running applications. The program is available in two versions: Plus and Standard. The Plus version offers multiple docks, tabbed docks, and a unique feature called flyout menus. The free version, while still demonstrating the capabilities of the 'zoomer' docks, limits you to only one dock. You can customize ObjectDock to be anything from a taskbar replacement to a fancy docklet-filled information center.

ObjectDock is certainly one of the most popular desktop applications around, and a lot of work is going into the new version.  Maybe in another week or so, a video might be in order.

Let me make note, this is an early screenshot and is still subject to changes in the final version.

With that being said…..

can't wait to see even one new feature come to ObjectDock (like um reflections, please!?).

Jeff has said before that reflections are a go in 2.0...I hope that is really the case.

I really can't say . . and I'd hate to steal ID's thunder . . but  . .

That new blur feature still needs some work, Zu.

Reflection!  Sweet.  Even though I think it looks stupid on a dock setup like that.  It really only "works" for me on a tray style dock.

Hey Zu, I think you need to clean your screen!

I don't know what you all are talking about . . I've never posted anything reflection related.

Can't wait for the beta... and for updating my docklets for it.

I purchased ObjectDock a few months ago when it was already on version 1.9 for quite a while. I really hope I will qualify for 2.0 because if not then I won't have received *any* updates with my purchase. I really like ObjectDock and if I have to pay then I will grudgingly do so but I do not want to. The only other negative experience I've had with Stardock is that I paid full price for TweakVista and although it does what it does well I did not feel value for its normal price. If I had bought it as part of Object Desktop complete it would have been fine but by itself its not a good value at $19.95 (or whatever I paid, around there) in my humble opinion. Balancing this when I bought WindowBlinds 5 I was close enough to 6 that I received that version at no cost. So, overall, Stardock is a good outfit.

I know this is way off topic, but how possible would it be to add that reflection item to DX 4?
