The WinCustomize Poll is back, and to start it off we have a question suitable to the big tech news this week, which is the public release of Windows 7 RC.  If you are interested, you can download Windows 7 RC from here

This weeks poll is simple.  Have you downloaded the Windows 7 RC?

I have to buy a new OS most probably I will buy it when it is available.

I've been reading that MS is laying off more employees and cutting positions. So it is very unlikely to see much of the rewards programs as before.

To the point and accurate. We should not expect any rewards as it is economic crisis.

The real deal will be available between Aug-Sept of this year most of the Win 7 forums seems to agree on this time frame

Do you *really* think a forum agreeing on a timeframe makes it a fact?

We can test that. Let us all agree on the fact that a beta release of the complete Object Desktop suite will be available for windows 7 by June-July... The challenge is *ON*

Anyone had any problems with Win7 kicking them off their network?

resetting network connection fixes it but it's better for me if that never happens.

NT, i've read about that happening to numerous people but i do not remember a fix for it. if i see anything regarding that, i'll PM ya.

Personally, just like Vista, I have no reason to run Win7 in a new partition or on my main partition. I won't be downloading the RC build from MS directly... I plan on downloading the prebuilt VMware virtual machine of the Win7 RC, and run it safely there in a nice sandbox. So Stephen Lee-Woolf, I believe there should be a 4th answer as I don't really fall into any of the existing 3! I will say that the Win7 beta VM I have run a few times does seem to work better than any version of Vista I've seen; and I've heard good things about the RC build also.

I have, on download day, did a clean install, all seems to working that I need to work, Paintshop Pro, Adobe Elements 7, Corel Video Studio, my printer, my scanner, and I have had that since way back, on XP, most other programs that I used on Vista, they are working on Windows 7, so far, so good, hope it continues, it has been a pleasant experiance so far and I have already started filling my piggy bank and I have a year to save up, I would hope that by my 61st birthday in September, all my kids contributing for my birthday a wee bit of cash, I'll get there. I downloaded it last night and am using it now. So far so good. No problems with it except that it won't run Windowblinds. I have noticed that it's not such a drag on the system as Vista.

I downloaded the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor Beta fro MS to see if my computer will run Win 7.  Yes it can, it should, just brought a new computer with Vista Hom Premium 64 bit on it.  Now that I know it will run it I just need to decide when I will download it.  I probably will wait until it's presented to the retail market and WindowBlinds 7 is released.

No, I haven't downloaded Win7 RC, and I don't intend to, even though I'm running XP.  My life is complicated enough without voluntarily playing guinea pig for Microsoft.  My computer is pretty old, and when it finally does kick the bucket, I'm hoping to be able to pick up somebody's old Vista machine from Craigslist or a pawn shop.  "Brand New" is something that I'm learning to live without and realizing is overrated anyway.  Brand new means I witness every aspect of deterioration.  Used means I only see what's expected to happen anyway. That's much less of a heart break.

Maybe instead of "Have You Downloaded Windows 7 RC" the title should have been, "Are You A Optimist Or A Pessimist", me, well I'm a Optimist, been nearly dead twice with heart problems, then a cancer scare, what the hell, it's just a computer operating system, not the end of the world as we know it, OR IS IT, just kidding, give it a go, it canny bite. I installed Windows 7 this morning, and must say I am rather pleased. Now if only I could use all of Stardocks' apps.... that would make it perfect for me!

So far, WB is the only app I use frequently that is not compatible with Win 7. ObjectDock, CursorFX, IconPackager, and SoundPackager all seem to work fine (although I did get a funny notification about an icon package...said it was designed for XP or above and may not be compatible with Win 7....)

Finally got around to installing this on a different hd.  From the time I put the disk in to the time I was looking at my Win7 desktop a whopping 22 minutes had passed.  22 minutes!  I knew it was fast but damn.  So far, I haven't installed any other proggys but I'll get to that tonight...my due projects will have to wait.  I'm funning around.

Download EasyBCD from here: http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1 that'll help you setup a boot menu so you can dual boot.  Vista is still there don't worry.
