I do have a suggestion though. Maybe you can offer a consolation prize to the 999,999 customer, a free copy of Sins of the Solar Empire.

Just a thought.

I am truly amazed at all the BS on how to win this computer. Why not just go buy something, create an account and buy something or create a second account and buy something and hope you are the winner. Otherwise, all this complaining seems pointless.

Is everyone here who is complaining about not being eligible actually gonna buy something they actually need or are you gonna just spend money on the cheapest thing Impulse has to offer and then cry because you didn't win and now you own something you wouldn't have actually bothered to waste money on had it not been for this give away? Seriously folks, it's just a computer, granted a nice, expensive computer that even I would love to own, but this constant questioning of the rules and specifications seems out of control.

I can picture IslandDog now pulling his hair, regreting ever posting this article and Draginol shaking his head wondering why he even bothers to offer a free gift.

Not at all. If Brad would just answer the question I posed in #104 then 99.9% of the confusion would go away.

Whining about not getting a prize for already buying something is indeed bullshit. Asking for solid clarification of the rules because there have been no solid answers (and conflicting answers) is not whining nor out of line.

Creating 2nd and 3rd accounts just to be eligible ( if that is indeed necessary to be eligible ) is also a crock and quite frankly I'm disgusted at the very thought that people would stoop to that level.

Creating 2nd and 3rd accounts just to be eligible

Neilo would be creating the third account regardless of whether or not it would be eligible, or at least that was my understanding.  The only question is when.

Awesome Deal SD..

Not often do you see a Co. hand out such an awesome Goodie to thank folks for being customers. This is just another point of proof that SD rocks.

FFS Phoon. Wish you folks would read the entire thread before posting, having to repost myself is tiresome.

I created a 2nd Impulse account about a year ago for a second copy of GC2 DL that i was given. Since i found no way to register second copies under the one email i had to do so. Of course it was also required for Impulse to have seperate reg keys for each copy of the game, otherwise playing both on one machine was trouble. It was anyway and i had to install on other PC, but i digress.

I than bought on that account a second copy of Dark Avatar.

Now i have a third copy of GC2 DL and obviously need another Impulse account to be able to reg it, buy another DA and download, install and play those games on another machine.

All legit reasons to having 3 accounts.

Now as SS said, i need that third account regardless of this prize. I'll admit i was not going to set up that thrid account till i was ready, but this prize has prompted me to do so soon as that PC is awesome. Also since i at some point very soon want to order Elemental, i may as well do all at once.

So that would make it 1 DL, 3 DA's, TA, 2 other games, ODU and elemental that i have bought, along with two gifted DL's.

All that along with the fact that "create new account" is in the Impulse Orb, gives me every right to try and win a great prize.

Im disgusted with your ignorance and attitude. So now, what part of all that do you have a problem with?

From your post #105

Make a new account like i outlined in reply 97 and make a purchase and then you would be eligable, i assume.

Though i am waiting to see if this will be frowned upon. If not, i will be pre-ordering Elemental.

Yes, I've read all the posts. This one appeared that you were suggesting that people make extra accounts and make a purchase to be um ... eligible?

I guess the real meaning of all that was contained in code elsewhere in the thread. My bad for missing it.

on Mar 21, 2009

I'm still missing your point. What is wrong with using a Stardock feature to create a second account and make a purchase?

on Mar 21, 2009

I would have thought this applies to new customers?

If you are already a customer, it doesn't matter how many new accounts you create you are still an existing customer.

Personally, if this was my company, I would get all those who are moaning, refund their money, delete their accounts and tell them I no longer wished them to be customers.

Bunch of spoiled brats

I find this to be an extremely generous gift and applaude Stardock for coming up with it.  A great promotional idea, Congratulations to whoever the 1 millionth will be...

on Mar 21, 2009

While it's a great way of promoting SD's products and shows great generosity, I'm upgrading from SDC to impulse today and will likely buy an item or two.

If this puts me in the running and if I do win, I don't care to have my real identity posted on a gaming site, as is common with winners of these promotions.

I would thereby decline any prize and suggest that it go to the next person.
