The crew over at Actiontrip.com put their “hands on” the beta of Demigod, and gave their impressions so far.

“Games are fast and action packed from the start. The designers insist this is by design and say most games will last between 30 and 45 minutes. They have also taken great care to ensure that Demigod is accessible to everyone who wants to play. This means that similar to another Stardock game you may have heard of (Sins of a Solar Empire), the game does not require a cutting edge system to play. The game will of course look and play amazing on fire breather systems, but it will also scale appropriately on lower end rigs to ensure you get the best performance. Also, Gas Powered Games and Stardock have priced the game at $39.95, so that you won't have to break the bank to play.”

Actiontrip.com is where you need to be to see the full preview!

I wonder if they knew the price was going to be $39.95 before the pre-orders? Or did we just pay 49.95 to see the game hands-on through production?

The pre-order price is for the collector's edition.

I also think the preorder should be 39.99 for digital download.  oh well, I wonder if the price will change after release.

Lol good thing I didn't pre-order. I'm not into Collector Editions at all anyway. Can't wait til release!

on Mar 11, 2009

Well dang, I didn'y get the box, just the download.   Oh well.

is this going to be like sins, where i get screwed out of money because i pre-ordered right at the beginning? if it is, this is absolutely the last pre-order i ever make from stardock...

I love collectors editions. If it is true I payed for the collectors edition Im more than happy as I thought I would get the bog standard. Can someone please confirm if we will be getting standard or collectors edition?

on Mar 11, 2009

all i know is, with sins, i paid $45 for the preorder,as opposed to $40 for the retail price, and i didnt get a damn thing for my $5. i really REALLY hope it doesnt work out the same way this time. im still pretty annoyed about it, and im going to be downright pissed if demigod does me the same way.

If you preordered the box version, you will get the Collectors Edition.

I think closer to release you can pay an extra ~$5-$10 to upgrade your digital download to the box version

so what about those of us that didnt preorder the box, and dont WANT the box? sigh this is looking like sins all over again, where my five bucks are just forfeit.

We all know you're sore about it, you don't have to keep bashing it into our heads.

You can download those extras from the sins web site. I think you also get some free themes for window blinds or something as well.

What is the "Premium" stuff you get with collectors? Maybe a figurine of Rook?
