The latest edition of the Demigod blog is up at IGN.  In this edition, Brad Wardell gives a bit of an “inside” look at the development of Demigod, and most importantly, the actual people behind Demigod.

“Back in September, Mike Marr (lead designer) and I had this engine and we had a budget to work with. Our friend John Comes had left to take up an opportunity at a brand-new studio and the game was really his baby. So Mike and I adopted this baby and over the last several month made the game our own.

We made a number of decisions early on that are only starting to bear fruit in Beta 3. First, we decided that we wanted to make a game that was very straight forward to play. A game that people could sit down and play and finish in a half hour or less. “

same, aslso as u said it has really turned a corner, were i'm having a blast playing it (especially when i win cause I can laugh at them) but also when its a really close game and I lose because i no I slaughter, and I like acheivements and how its not just who wins. Its not perfect but the real thing that brings it down right now are bugs and balance which i assume will be fine for final product.

On a side note best beta and dev-player communications ever. People like Blizzard make kick ass games but their always like we'll tell u when we feel like it. your very out of the loop with them but I still like them for making wc3 and starcraft which had the best editor ever. I think it will be really cool if we could say yay thats awesome and i told them to do it, and remember the good times we had helping u guys make a game.
