I still can’t believe the year is quickly coming to an end.  With that, it’s time to get some things done to start the new year off right.  I have come to call this my “End of the Year Chores”.  It’s nice having a long holiday break, but I’m going to use some of that time to get these done.

Some of the things I need to get done:

  • Reformat my desktop PC.  I have been putting this off for months, but it just needs to be done.
  • Upgrade desktop PC.  I’m still not sure about this one, but I am considering upgrading my PC with a new mobo and CPU in preparation for Windows 7.
  • Organize desk area.  I have been so busy over the past month, my desk has been neglected.  I think it’s also time to move some PC’s around, and try out a different work area and see how it goes.
  • Clean out the closet.  My office closet is a disaster.
  • Organize music collection.  Although I try to keep it organized, it has just gotten a bit out of control.  I especially need to get some playlists going in iTunes.
  • WinCustomize 2009 details.  I want to get most of my final wishlists for WC2K9 down so we can take a look at them when the new year starts.

I think that is most of my work related chores for the next couple of weeks.  What type of chores do you need to get done?

Sounds like u have your work cutout, my DVD unit quit on me, my front faceplate is now hanging off after tripping and falling on my pc a while back, .5 of my 2 gigs of ram quit working when I took it out to check the speed, my HD is 96% full, my wireless keyboard is on the blink and my desk is falling to pieces,

Time for a spanking new setup I think!

wish I could afford one...

I'm moving from Texas to Michigan.  You really don't want to see my list.

Trying to figure out how when my wife goes back to work I can get her to get a second job so I can build a 64bit PC.  She's such a slacker.  Doesn't she know how much this means?

Well, lets see, I could reformat my PC too, but doing a dual boot XP/Vista and reinstalling everything is a pain. Maybe I should get a new PC first, mine is almost 5 years old. I am with vStyler on that issue though, who can afford it...

Somehow I've managed to be 'intending' to get 4 drawings out before the end of the year.

I'm buggered if I know what possessed me to promise anything of the sort.

I guess it's a bit like charity phone-calls....you know you want/must refuse but somehow you end up with yet another 20 raffle tickets for a BMW M3 you just KNOW never ever existed.

...AND it's the silly season....when you're expected to be a party animal [or at least passingly sociable].

Bah, humbug ....

SURVIVE is the first priority but who can afford it?

It's a natural desire to please Jafo.

1. Get linux working on my laptop to have a proper dual-boot setup ( investigate some distros other than kubuntu)

2. clean up my alternate partitions on my desktop PC ( downloads , attachments , etc )

3. clear out and defragment the primary partition on my desktop PC

4. Fix old video card (7600GT PCI-E) to get rid of it ( it needs a new HSF )

5. Install PSP X2 and Office 2007 on my desktop

6 set up my external hard drive enclosure
