Hmmmmmm....seems I purchased the Magic suite last year and got Winter Wonderland suite for free and yet when I try to apply it Theme Manager wants me to register it in My Colors and it doesn't show up...now Impuse wants me to PURCHASE the Winter Wonderland suite that last year I received for free? What gives?

Nope. Most of these are strategy games. WoW is a subscription model massively multiplayer online game. Games like that would consist of Warhammer Online, Age of Conan, Eve Online, etc.

I was most disappointed to find that as I went to purchase "Winter Wonderland", the store displayed a price of $6.95 which translated to £9.99! Now unless someone has got the exchange rate inverted, I am not prepared to pay a one-to-one conversion.

Po, as FalseDeity stated, mostly these are strategy games. World of Goo is a puzzle game with goo; the description suggests it's pretty strange. Project Aftermath is referred to as an "arcade RTS," a term I've never heard before, but this seems to mean that it's a shooter with RPG elements. Space Rangers is an RTS/RPG/TBS hybrid game. The others are pretty straightforward TBS or RTS games. None of these would be really qualify as an RPG in the conventional sense, either tactical-combat or action-based.

Thank you FalseDeity and warreni for the info. I guess I'll keep looking, though I'm leaning towards WOW cause a couple of his friends are already on it.

Last year I bought the Magic Suite and received WW for free. This year when I went to apply the WW suite Theme Manager 3 refused to install it. So I had to buy the Winter Wonderland suite. I wouldn't be so PO'd if the purchased suite would at least apply as advertised, but all I get from Stardock and MyColors is a IE 7 messasage saying the link doesn't exist. The other link just points to a My Colors setup file which downloads a link for MyColors setup which I've got already. I've been a long time customer at Stardock and Wincustomize and have had it with the shoddy applicaton methods. I want my Winter Wonderland suit in pieces by email (.ip,.wb, etc.)or snail mail on CD - but NOW. This is the message I have just sent to Stardock Support. I suppose I'll hear back in 6-8 weeks.

I just purchased Galciv with Altarian Prophesy and Galcic 2... have yet to get around to playing one of them, but I'm pretty stoked at the price and the ease of purchase via Impulse.  Thanks Stardock.

Also, could someone please tell me how I can make a hard copy to a bootable disc?  I read that archiving allows this, but the files stored in Application Data\Stardock\Impulse\Backup do not seem to do anything and Windows wants to know what program I want to open it with.. and with that being the case I don't see how I can make a backup disc.

TIA for any help/advice offerred... starkers.

The archive files can only be unarchived with Impulse.  So you'll want to burn teh archive and the Impulse installer on the same DVD.  To restore, click on teh Stardock orb and Restroe Archive.

Hehe, the Borg will never be the same... they'll take one look at my rugged pirate exterior and peg leg, then run away with their implants between their legs.
