Nice interview. I just wish i could get on with the game I purchased it right back at the beginning of the betas and right up to release i found the interface and game play too difficult to understand and the tutorial was anything but in-depth. Can anyone tell me if there was ever an update to the tutorial that actually taught you how to play the game?

That said the update does look impressive and should boost the game to all who play it. The new starbase looks ominous!

Shouldn't this have been in a Sins category, not plain Gaming? I'm glad Sins is doing well for Stardock, but I'm one of those GC folks who has no interest in RTS.

Looks great! *Wanders off to preorder*

ya its kind of odd seeying this in GalCiv...

Sins is a game . . thus fits in gaming.

Also remember that Stardocks forums are all interconnected so sometimes one never knows what will turn up where.

Hopefully some GalCiv players will cross over to the dark-side

The all-are-one thing is exactly why I was hoping a mod would move this thread to "where it belongs." What's the point of having categories if you don't use them to organize stuff? The general Gaming area seems logically to be the place for games that do not have their own areas, not cross-talk.

This is placed in the Gaming category so it can be viewed site-wide.

As Island Dog said, many users cross site boundaries. Galciv may be my primary interest, but I may be interested in other games if only I knew about them. Hell, that's why i bought Sins to begin with. It's a not-all-that-subtle form of internal advertising - and one that worked, at least on me. Looks like I'll be playing Sins more in November.

It's also one that undermines my basic affection for Stardock, perhaps mostly because I believe advertising is immoral, but also because I believe I'm perfectly capable of looking around for a new game if I want one. Plus, I have an ex-scholar's obssession with enforcing consistency between category names and items in a category. Having this "stealth ad" in Games when we already have a full Sins site just seems very wrong.

This very statement points to the fact that "site" means almost nothing around here any more. I suggest ditching that now-useless term and being specific about the named forum categories. The notion of a "site" was hard enough to keep clear back before folks started building dynamic HTML, and since then, well, the web metaphor has left the orb-building spiders behind for messy critters like the black widow.

Edit: I'm very interested in the NotMoM project and I'd have the same complaint about a thread like this for that game.

I'm one of the ones that resisted/complained about the cross posting setup, but this is one I would not put into the annoying, off-topic category. It's no different then the various posts about Spore,TF2 and the multitude of other games that get talked about here.

I hang out on the GC2 forums because I enjoy the community here and had missed other announcements about Entrenchment, so maybe it's just a case of the post containing information that I wanted causing my bias in favor of it .

Either way, I got my preorder in .

Anyone?

My only question in regards to this mini-expansion is what is going on in regards to the fact its also being included in the big expansion pack planned later on?

If I buy this mini-expansion, can I expect a discount later for the big expansion?
