Give Your Percentages
Published on September 15, 2008 By Island Dog In US Domestic

We did our informal polls throughout the nomination process, but now that we have the candidates down, lets move on to some election predictions.  Everyone give your prediction on who will win, and the rough percentage of the vote they will get.

For me....

McCain/Palin will win with 54% majority.

He that wins Colorado wins the election.

Nobody "wins" 100%

We'll just be stuck in a perpetual cycle of political bullshit.

Now this kind of prediction I like!  Good starting point for a debate.

I will have to think on this one.  Somehow, I dont think the democrats are going to agree with you.  Colorado - like Virginia - is said to be in play.  But what either indicates is that if the democrats win them, it will not be a close election.  If the republicans win them, it aint over yet.

now what i want to know frogboy... did you use the political machine game to come to this prediction

cause that would be very very cool... even cooler if it turns out right.

I hate to say this, but at this point I predict an Obama victory by 2%.  Prove me wrong America.  Vote McCain/Palin!

on Oct 01, 2008

I bet it'll be Obama by the majority vote, but the electoral one I'm not too sure on.  We could end up with another "he that wins the electoral college is more important than he that wins the total votes" It really depends on where the votes fall.

As a sidenote/sidetrack, electoral college = fail.  The idea that my "vote" could still end up going to the wrong guy drives me up a wall every four years.

Hmm... I know it's cheating, but I'd rather wait after the VP debate before saying anything. But for the moment, I think Obama will win with something about... oh.. 53%, McCain 44%

No, I think the VP is going to be a very small factor (as usual). But with the latest hysteria, I tend to agree with yoru current predictions.

I have a post facto prediction.  Inflation goes up to 7-8% over the next 4 years.

I have a post facto prediction. Inflation goes up to 7-8% over the next 4 years.

Wait, is that the annual rate, or is it 7-8% in the next 4 years?

Because, if it's the latter, we're in deep trouble, since it's below the U.S.'s target inflation rate, and it's symptomatic of economic slowdown - but that will probably mean that the dollars gained value.. hmmm...

Well, if Palin acts in the debate like she acted in the recent interview she gave, and Biden don't act too stupidly, it might make a difference...

Everyone is a comedian!  Annual percentage.  That is what you get when you start printing money, and that is only if Obama reigns in expectations.  if he gives up all he has promised, Carter will start looking good.

Biden don't act too stupidly, it might make a difference...

Better hope Palin screws up. It will be hard for Biden to not screw up since he cant plagarize on stage.

Hehe. I personnally only expect a 4-5% inflation rate (annually) for the next 2 years. Which is still very good.

If it goes up even more, it's not gonna be because of the 700 billion bail-out, but because of various commodity's rising price.

and oil. Never forget the oil.

Good news, it didn't happened for anybody! So, I stand by my earlier prediction!
