This is coming from the same people who accuse the GOP of being "liars" and "smear merchants".

From Newsbusters:

As I reported earlier, the scurrilous claim that McCain vice presidential pick Governor Sarah Palin faked her pregnancy with a Down's Syndrome child is beginning to spread among the lowest of the nutrooters. Now, the unhinged, smear site DemocraticUnderground.com has boosted this lie to their front pages. Naturally, since these hate sites feed into each other, the spurious source of the DU story is another DailyKos story like the one I earlier reported upon.

Pile this on top of the low blow from TV's Alan Colmes who claims that Palin didn't practice proper prenatal care before she had the baby with Down's Syndrome, blaming the Mother for her disabled child. Well, the lefties don't know a low road they won't take. (Colmes' site has crashed right now, but this is the address if it ever comes back: http://www.alan.com/2008/08/30/did-palin-take-proper-pre-natal-care/)

Liberals really know how to lose elections.

Is there any depths of scum and sleaze the folks at the DU won't slither down to?

I am so glad I'm a moderate.  I avoid the crazy all the time.

I guess that is the world liberals want for handicapped children: stories about their parents.

The F-word gave it away, really.

Didn't really care that much.

It's a good point. I can't see liberal nutcases (i.e. bloggers) helping their candidates by banging on about this. The thing that they don't understand is, bloggers and overzealous supporters do more harm than good. Madonna disgraced herself, the Republican priest praying for rain during the Obama speech softened the Don Fowler blow, and now the liberals are blogging about Palin's family.

Her daughter didn't ask for media attention which should be focused on her mother. She's not done anything against the law. It's time this was dropped by media and long-standing blogs before it blows back at them.

Pregnant teen = family values?

on Sep 01, 2008

AidanGriff you need to settle down and not take things as personal.  Of course sometimes it can get that way around here in specific instances from what I've gathered, but you just sort of attacked ID off the bat obviously without knowing his style and how he likes to get his points across.  I agree that liberals don't always like to get lumped together, but you must admit we tend to do that to the conservatives just as well.  I made a similar comment on another post recently about lumping all liberals/democrats into one big pile and how I don't like that practice, but I did so without the offensive language and all-caps frenzy.

On the subject at hand:  Personally, I don't care much about Palin's personal life unless it significantly alters the qualification of her character she and McCain put out for the public.  The issue with the pregnancies in her family aren't those types of cases; everyone has family issues they have to get through at one point or another.  There will also always be people out there to fabricate, smear, straight-out lie, slander...call it what you will.  Are we always going to freak out, or are we going to learn to just ignore?  I try not to put any stock in the desperate rantings of opinionated commentators or any of that he-said she-said gossip.

Well sorry I called ID on his bullshit. My bad.

Aidan, if you can't participate civilly then you will need to leave.

Pregnant teen = family values?

No, but it looks like the family is handling the situation just fine.    She didn't abort Trig when she learned he had Down Syndrome and was there to help when Bristol told her family she was pregnant.   So far, in the family values department, Sarah Palin is 2 and 0 and counting.

Double Posts are not a family value! ;~D

Well Sorry I called Id on his bullpoop

family values?

Ah, a deliciously ambiguous term.  All families have different values...so what the hell does this term actually mean?  It can be interpreted in a variety of contexts.

Ah, but that's why I prefer to stay out of politics...too much bullshit on either side and not enough shovels in the world to deal with it.

I would think by now when people use terms like "liberals" and "conservatives", that others would have enough sense to realize one is not talking about every single person in that category.

This was about the liberals who have done nothing but attack Palins family and daughter for no reason other than their own satisfaction.  She must be doing something right then.

If you are so offended about what I said, take it up with the liberals who are attacking her.
