All I have to say is this is scary.  This man is prepping himself up as some savior, and how many idiots in this country actually believe it.

DENVER (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's big speech on Thursday night will be delivered from an elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple.

The stage, similar to structures used for rock concerts, has been set up at the 50-yard-line, the midpoint of Invesco Field, the stadium where the Denver Broncos' National Football League team plays.

Some 80,000 supporters will see Obama appear from between plywood columns painted off-white, reminiscent of Washington's Capitol building or even the White House, to accept the party's nomination for president.

He will stride out to a raised platform to a podium that can be raised from beneath the floor.

Hope they can get the smell (from all the BS) out before football season.

I think it would be even better if they had a pink floyd laser show.  I hear they are going to have fireworks etc.  How embarassing is this show going to be when he loses in November?

Best response ever!

It's only appropriate that Barack Obama would descend down from the heavens and spend a little time with us mere mortals when accepting the Democratic nomination," said Republican National Committee spokesman Danny Diaz.

What I am curious is how much money is being spent on this convention considering how many Americans they claim need financial help. Not to mention the amount of energy wasted on such a ridiculous show when they are the ones screaming about an energy crisis. This is definitely the mother of all hypocrisies.

When will he simply just debate McCain, after all the Messiah should have no problem dealing with a mere mortal like McCain.

I hope the stadium is able to contain his ego.

This reminds me of going to the store and finding a product in  a flashy new package which costs more and yeilds half as much as it used to.

Doc, You mean Husseina?

The GOP is having a feild day with this... they are calling it 'The Barackopolis' and have issued a list of appropriate togas to wear. I would want my toga to be 'the traditional'

-- "The Traditional" -- This is most popular style for men and women attending tomorrow night's speech at The Temple of Obama. Particularly popular among those 'clinging' to guns and religion in the face of economic hardship

At least it's not boring.

Which is more than you can say for McCain.

Obama- Infinite Loop candidate.

He'll take us to infinity, but not beyond. Infinite waiting for "change".

Lincoln Memorial

Um, it's called the Lincoln Memorial, and the stage represents the symbolic location of Dr. Martin Luther King's call to bring about change in this nation.  It's simply a metaphor for change, not a message of elitism or a call to be worshipped.  Take things for what they are from time to time and refuse the overkill because it's just making you appear downright foolish sometimes.
