Get your skin on!

Stardock is pleased to announced the release of WindowBlinds 6.2 today. WindowBlinds is an application that lets users easily change their Windows interface by applying a new skin. These "visual styles" can be applied across the entire user interface (title bars, push buttons, start menu, taskbar, etc.) of the operating system. As a result, users gain complete control over the way Windows looks.

What's new in version 6.2:

  • Improved compression on start menu animations
  • Animated wait screens during Apply
  • Enhanced layer support (accompanied by skin author support in SkinStudio 6.2)
  • Bug Fixes

WindowBlinds is available in both a free version and a an enhanced version which adds many additional features like the ability to change color/hue/brightness on the fly, change toolbar icons of IE and Explorer, and much more. WindowBlinds is available as part of Object Desktop, Stardock's ultimate suite of desktop customization tools, or at stand-alone for $19.95.

More information can be found at www.windowblinds.net.

The download looping is sorted. I neglected to update an entry for a file redirect to the faster servers.

The current beta of SKS (6.10a[b].033 in Impulse, but also in SDC - updated 16th July) supports the new layers features.  Make sure you have show pre releases enabled.

The final 6.2 build of SKS6 also adds a visible UI for the clipping support added in WB 6.2.  I believe SKS 6.2 is due for release next week.

The advanced layering support is working just fine in Skinstudio version 6.1. It really does allow for some stretching of images that previously were not very cooperative.

Good job.

Great.
Now that that's done. Can we add a "glow" effect to the taskbar buttons. Like the Start button.
The skin I'm working on for the GUI Champs, needs a "glow" effect. Glyphs won't work.
