Microsofts Photosynth Project
Not many things from Microsoft excite me too much anymore, but this is something I have found very interesting. It's almost hard to describe so the words from Microsoft Live Labs sums it up.
"Photosynth takes a large collection of photos of a place or object, analyzes them for similarities, and displays them in a reconstructed 3-Dimensional space."
There is a video on the preview site which shows how they use this to "construct" a 3D environment where you can explore a place through pictures taken by different people across the world.

In one word: "Awesome!"
The concept is a very bold move forward and one I look forward to with anticipation. Something like this will definitely change the face of Computers and the Internet. To be put into a 3D Environment of different locations or like a news agency will use, a war zone or disaster zone and to see the entire picture like Photosynth aims for would be definitely a new page in Computer History.
Makes me feel like a little kid waiting for Christmas and its the Night of Christmas Eve.
