I still can't believe how looney these people really are.

Peace prize winner 'could kill' Bush Annabelle McDonald 25jul06

NOBEL peace laureate Betty Williams displayed a flash of her feisty Irish spirit yesterday, lashing out at US President George W.Bush during a speech to hundreds of schoolchildren.

Campaigning on the rights of young people at the Earth Dialogues forum, being held in Brisbane, Ms Williams spoke passionately about the deaths of innocent children during wartime, particularly in the Middle East, and lambasted Mr Bush.

"I have a very hard time with this word 'non-violence', because I don't believe that I am non-violent," said Ms Williams, 64.

"Right now, I would love to kill George Bush." Her young audience at the Brisbane City Hall clapped and cheered.

Maybe she is recruiting for the "cause".

Why kids in school would care about her death wish is beyond me. But I guess if anyone can be a rap artist now a days than anyone can get a Nobel Peace doohickey.

Doing this in front of school children make it even more pathetic.

I very much doubt they took her seriously and I very much doubt that she meant it seriously.

What kind of world are we going to have if we ban hyperbole? Is a grey and miserable world populated only by facts what you want?

I'll remember that the next time a celebrity decides to call for the death of a President.

Hyperbole or not, it was a stupid statement to make.

Right....

So you think it's ok for people with some "status" to go in front of school children and threaten to kill someone?
