The Mozilla Foundation is hatching yet another software project to challenge a key Microsoft title. The new project, code-named Lightning, aims to integrate Mozilla's calendar application, Sunbird, with its recently released Thunderbird e-mail application. I have been trying the ftp drop for desktopx. Link When I load it the drop appears but it slows my system way down and it takes a few minutes before it stops. It also uses a lot of memory. Does anyboyd else have this problem?

Apple has sued three software developers, accusing them of posting pre-release versions of the next major Mac OS X update on the Internet without its permission. The lawsuit is a further blow to the reputation of BitTorrent, the peer-to-peer download technology. I was glad to see they releaed Trillian 3.0, so I downloaded the final release, tried it out for a while, and then uninstalled it. I was thinking after all this time they could at least come up with a new default skin, but no, it's the same one. It still doesn't accept windowblinds skins either. I am going to stay with MSN and I withraw my vote for a Trillian section on wincustomize.

Gartner has warned that companies shouldn't use the new Google Desktop Search tool because of security concerns and a lack of features.
