Today we released a small update for WindowBlinds bringing it to version 8.09.

Update includes:

  • Fix for a Firefox titlebar issue
  • Added better support for high DPI displays

You can download the update from your Stardock account, or via Object Desktop Manager.

OK..........I'll hold and wait and see how this turns out.

Ditto.

Updated 8.06 to .09 and reverted back right after the required reboot as Directory Opus was broken (both clicking on the desktop to get a new lister and right clicking to 'open new lister'.

Too bad. Hopefully figured out and fixed soon?

I mentioned the same issue above.  One thing you may not have noticed is should you try to open DOpus (or My Computer) with Chrome open, the Chrome tite bar disappears for a second then re-appears but without the min/max/close buttons. If you click the Chrome title bar the buttons re-appear.  I think there is something amiss with the way video is being handled, but that is purely a guess on my part.   By the way this only happens when one applies a skin.  If you switch to Windows Aero, none of this occurs.

KUDOS to Neil for still trying to improve the world's greatest skinning software !

-Microsoft sure isn't making it easy for him.

Sorry to hear some people are having issues.  Before updating today, I disabled AVG and Malwarebytes.  Both ODM and WindowBlinds are reporting version 8.09.  Haven't noticed any issues here so far on Windows 8.1.

I've been having issues. 2nd time to install. Buttons in IE all messed up, black over buttons in IE, etc. 8.06 was  working fine for me, this version not well at all.

So, uninstalled and installed for the 3rd time, all seems well for now.

Guys, I wouldn't expect help until after the holidays. I would advise not installing this update until an official statement has been made by Stardock/WC on the status of this matter.

Stardock's offices will be closed in observance of the holiday season from December 19th until January 5th, 2015.

During this time there will be a delay in answering support tickets, so we ask for your patience during the holiday period.  While we will keep tabs on the tickets during the break, we will respond to them as quickly as possible upon our return.

On behalf of the Stardock staff we wish you a happy holiday season and look forward to the new year!

Same here.  Running DirOpus v11.8 and noticed after applying this update that it wouldn't launch anymore.  Reinstalled Windowblinds 8.06 and DirOpus is working again. But ... this is using Win8.1 32-bit.

When I tried WB 8.09 in Win10 TPZ 64-bit, not only does it work OK, but it doesn't hamper DirOpus, either.

So maybe, the updated version is intended for Win10 TP.

UPDATE: After this morning's boot, same problems as with 8.06 -- restart loop on desktop.

So, I was wrong -- WindowBlinds does not work with Win10 TP 64-bit.

I'm not testing anymore with Win10 because I already used two activations for these tests and don't want to risk my Win8.1 copy being deactivated!

Good catch RedNeck.  I burned up two activations - one trying to get 8.09 activated and to work and then another to get 8.06 back running.  I would be pretty aggravated if I had to wait two weeks waiting to get my activation count adjusted.  Unless I hear success from folks who are having the same Directory Opus issue as me, I'll wait this one out.  I'm sure it will eventually be corrected.

I had to disable Malwarebytes and Windows Defender (Win 8.1) to get the update to install correctly but now Malwarebytes will not run. I get "Instruction tried to access memory location 0x00000000. The location could not be read. Help?!
