My question is this. As with all things new how can anyone say with certainty that a newbie will or will not be better than its predecessor as far as functionality and ease of use be without running it on all eight, or in this case, ten cylinders hard enough to break it?  Putting it through the wringer as it were. Eventually I'll get my greedy hands on it and see for myself. Until then everything is speculation for those not running it.

Quoting benmanns,

One can simply unpin the tiles in the tech preview of windows10, the user is then ending up with no tiles at all.
still nice to see that Start8 you got Start8 working this quickly.

But then you still lose the right hand list.

True but then again i haven’t tested if you can copy and paste folders into the right hand side im at work currently so i cant check.
Good argument though
However i believe that if it wont work it will be added on a later time, i think MS approach releasing the TP this early to a variety of consumers is great this way people can actually make suggestions to make an overall good OS for all the devices but for each unique and right so that the user behind using it will be satisfied being it a desktop PS a Smartphone a Tablet or whatever.
Im looking forward to an overall good OS.
Not saying that Start8 isnt still good especially since it has the extra modification goodys to it like changing the startbutton or switching between the shell + the benefit of having a skinned SM if you use windowblinds however i would like to finally see the big one skinned aswell.

No, not really... I know that I'm gonna like it.  I also know that it will be faster than Win 8... read it on a MS devs blog,

I haven't downloaded it as yet, much less run it, but I'm not speculating that 10 is much gooderer than 9 would have been

It just is/will be.

You can pin certain folders to the left side, via right click/properties.

But not the right side.
