I got the update for WindowFX but the update for DeskScapes says its for WindowsXP, Windows Server 2003, Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 and aborts.  I have DeskScapes 8.1 on my Windows 7 computer.  I used My Account to download the updates.

DeskScapes did the same thing on my computer, Windows 7, so I just ran the DesckScapes installer in Windows XP compatibility mode and it installed fine.

First, you shouldn't have to do that and second, I thought there was no longer any XP support for Stardock software.

I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time.

G'day again,

Just right click on the installer, select properties and from there you will see a menu with the compatibility options.

As I mentioned previously, it refused to install on my machine, it came up with the same garbage that you, and others are mentioning, so I installed the WindowsFX update and rebooted the computer and tried again, with the same message about it wasn't compatible with Windows 7.

So that is why I thought that I would try running the installer in Windows XP compatibility mode and it worked, so give it a go if you want to or wait until they update the installer.

We're aware of it, and it'll be updated shortly.  In the meantime, using compatibility mode should work.

The compatibility issue for DeskScapes has been fixed.  You can re-download from your Stardock account and that should take care of it.

Confirmed, went to My Account and the update for DeskScapes installed.
