One of the ways we like to thank our customers here at Stardock is through our annual reports, compiled and authored by Stardock President and CEO Brad Wardell.

This year’s report, as always, combines a look at Stardock’s recent past and its future plans, analysis of the software and gaming industries, and statistics and observations from a survey of thousands of our customers.

Some of the tidbits from this year’s report:

  • Stardock is interested in game consoles for the first time in its history, thanks to the power and ease of development on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

  • We can’t wait to start 3D printing Galactic Civilizations III starships, and seeing what players’ creations look like in real life

  • iOS and Android development “more closely resemble a lottery system” than a viable market

  • Object Desktop Infinite is coming, allowing customers to access the full suite of Stardock’s desktop enhancements for just $3.99 per month

  • Almost twice as many Stardock customers own Android devices compared to iOS machines

  • Stardock customers are evenly split on Windows 8 – 39% have a positive opinion, while 39% have a negative perception

Very interesting!  I can't wait for more details!!

After having read the report, I look forward to Object Desktop Infinite.

If I read correctly, it won't be the only choice?  I know people who use ODNT that wouldn't be able to do a monthly plan.

I would of liked to see more information about Object Desktop going forward with Windows 8 but then that's just me.  All in all a good report, thanks for publishing it.  This should have the desktop customizers waiting in anticipation to see what the future holds.

It was mentioned that it will be another option to what's offered now.

Just curious. If it was known that most SD customer use Android devices, and that the phone app market is like a lottery, why was Dead Man's Draw released for the Iphone?

It just seems like SD would have had greater sales if the app was designed for Android devices because there is a large "pre made" market for the product with existing SD customers.

will the normal Object Desktop renewal be still available after OD infinite is implemented ?
Or should i buy another 2 years directly ?

the market for "pay to download plus in-app-purchases" is already tiny for iOS. for Android such a market does not exist.

(yes, i am aware it is free to play now, but the media hype was already over when that happened)

All the more reason to launch it on a platform where the greatest potential customer base (current SD customers) is.

I know it's less than a week since the posting of this thread but I would have expected more replies by now.  Looks like the whole community must be on vacation, surely if they read the thread they would have commented.

The iOS market is Anemic. The android market doesn't exist.

we did a lot of research and interviews with developers, some of which make apps that are well known and the sales are abysmal. It's a fine add on market but you wouldn't want a company spending time targeting it.
