There are very few shows I watch on TV, but probably my favorite that I wait for each year is Falling Skies which is on TNT.

The fourth season is starting on June 22nd, and from what I've been reading and watching it looks like it's going to be a good one.  If you are not familiar with the show, it's basically about a group of survivors from a catastrophic alien invasion. Steven Spielberg is the executive producer.

Any other fans of the show?  We can use this thread for discussion.

The trailer looks decent. I saw all the episodes/seasons so far, but i am not really a fan. I wish i could like it like you do, but sadly, its not there. I saw much better shows recently, and the sad part is, they were not even sci-fi.

They had a marathon yesterday, so I watched the couple of episodes of the last season to get caught up again.

Top of the list of ominous things uttered by children: We don't all have to die here.

I'm getting excited.

I've been really enjoying the show, overall it has excellent writing, interesting and well thought out characters and pretty good special fx

Yeah, I'm not really sure what to think about that premiere episode last night.

Who plays Chicken Little in the Series?

I thought it was fairly typical of the show, as a season opener. Season 2, 3 and 4 basically reset the whole story with their first episode. They've done a decent job at building on the premise of each opener though, especially in season 3. That said, season 4 first episode was really all over the place. A complete mess. Hopefully that means they're building towards a more story-oriented season compared to the previous ones - like a game of thrones episode wouldn't make any sense on its own.

However, I seem to recall reading that they wanted this season to be more episodic, not less. Woe is us, if so. We definitely do not need to go back to season two and zero story progress for half a season. Before you know it, they'll be making supply runs and making hard choices "for my family!!!1" (repeat until you puke).

I tried it a few times but couldn't get into it.

This being scifi and having aliens is sort of disappointment to me. It could have been so much more, but season 4 now, and i dont really feel the story has moved anywhere. The biggest change you can see are the kids - how they grew up over those 4 years.

On slighty unrelated note, second season of Hannibal was not as great as it could be either IMO, especially the second part of the season was a letdown to me bar the final episode, Vikings did not really cross their shadow either - it was decent, but nothing jaw-dropping. Game of Thrones s04 could have been as well 3 episodes long, cause the rest felt like adding completely nothing and Helix was utter BS IMHO. Still halfway the second season of Following, but that one is hardly masterpiece either - its first season have to be famous for the stupidity of some of the characters, especially police ones...

All in all, pretty underwhelming season thus far for me. I am now moving onto Under the Dome 2nd season, but not expecting much and then perhaps i will give a try to that new Extant show... The best show i have seen this year is 10 years old The Wire, which somehow eluded me in the past, mostly cause the setting did not feel that much appealing to me - but truth to be said, its absolutely brilliant, it keeps its brilliancy across all of its 5 seasons and none of the current shows i named come close, including those better ones like Hannibal or GoT...

This looks decent enough, but I tend to avoid Sci-Fi shows in general. They're really cheesy. The last ones I've actually enjoyed were Firefly and Stargate SG1.

I do watch The Walking Dead... and even that is pretty cheesy. I wouldn't say I really "enjoy" it. It's just one of those shows that I watch for no reason. Sort of like an addiction. Gotta see what happens next, right?

I might give this show a chance someday though. Maybe if they ever get around to tossing it up on Netflix...

Oh man... I stopped watching that show half way through the first season. Sure, a show needs a great antagonist... but you're supposed to have a good protagonist, too. Don't write yourself into a corner where your bad guy is leagues smarter than your good guy.

Speaking of bad guys... you didn't mention Breaking Bad in that list of shows. I'm going to assume you haven't seen it, and then say "What's WRONG with you!?"

Not to hijack the thread or anything...
