I got an e-mail tonight that I wanted to share with our artists here on WC.  It seems DAZ is giving away 3 of their 3D applications for free until the end of the month.

  • Bryce Pro 7
  • DAZ Studio Pro
  • Hexagon

http://www.daz3d.com/i/3d/free-3d-software-overview?home_5_btn=start

I haven't had the chance to fully check it out, so let me know if it goes through.

It's true. Free. FREE! However, very long download. Must register of course. Free is a good value though, thanks ID.

However, very long download

Around 500 kb/s ... it is not so bad...

Must register of course

If you have ever buy some DAZ product, or download some freebies, or being members of their forum, or ... simply register with your usual account...

Old Crab
Free is a good value though

Well, in these case, the freebies are worth almost 1000$ !!!

I've been buying models from them for 6 years, and have never had any real problems with their customer service.  They have some scifi models for sale too that you can use with DAZStudio or Poser.

I'm already registered with them so getting Hexagon 2.5 was a piece of cake. 150.00 USD for free!

on Feb 04, 2012

Right now they are not accepting any new registration; no confirmation emails are being sent out.

Thanks for the alert Island Dog! Been wanting to try my hand at digital art for some time now.

Registered and was confirmed with no problems. Have until 02/09/2012 to download.

They usually don't have anyone in the office on weekends, and the response on the deal has been so heavy the server was dragging its knuckles yesterday.  If you're having trouble registering, might want to try again Monday.   Not too early though, they're on Mountain Time.

Well, i have begin use them since the previous century... plenty of package from DAZ and Renderosity... only regret that i have only download package for poser and not DAZ on Renderosity ( missing all the Ds files )...

For newbies, once registered on DAZ, go to http://www.daz3d.com/i/3d-models/free-3d-models?cat=382 for some more free product... plenty of tutorial but some well know model like victoria 4 or Michael 4... around 50 freebies...

You can register on renderosity too and go to http://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/index.php ... over 27000 freebies for Poser, Daz, 3Dmax, Blender, Bryce, Hexagon, etc ...

A other good place with a huge amount of freebies only is http://www.sharecg.com/ ...

Now that you have the software and plenty of freebies content, time to awaken the artist who sleep in you !!!

THANKS for this info ID!

I had the 7 PLE edition that they gave away last year, and had purchased 6.3 from them way back. The PLE edition had some limitations and did not come with the content, materials, or Lightning.

Sweet.

Nice find.  Daz does this periodically but it's pretty infrequent and hard to catch if you aren't a regular with them.  Thanks Dawg.

Simply add a ".exe" at the end of the filename... not really a problem...
