I'm always happy to see an update.  SINS is a franchise I really want to see be successful.  The upcoming addon was a wonderful surprise.  I can't wait to see more details about it.  This is a great game that could be awesome.  It just needs a little more content.

Is this update for Dilpomacy only or is it also supposed to be available for Vanilla and Entrenchment?  Impulse only gave me the option of updating Diploamacy.

Nice to see this as final now.  Gotta fix my mod now. ugh!!

So if we want to play "pre-Beta" before Vasari got nerfed, play Entrenchment.

Every patch there is always something to complain about in some people's minds simply because balance and such changes. That is in essence the very nature of the patch and is again the very nature of the patch history throughout Sins Vanilla, Entrenchment, Diplomacy, and now Trinity. It will likely be the name of the game going into the stand alone expansion Rebellion as well. I have accepted this as the majority of the changes have been improvements and throughout the patch history from IronClad Games this statement holds true and does not waver.

Thank you Iron Clad and Star Dock for supporting the community once again!!!

vasari scramble bombers (at least lv 2 and 3) is still the most effective direct damage/antimatter and damage/second ability in the game.

It has been largely countered (as have fighter and bomber spam) by the abilities like Magnatize etc getting boosted significantly. It is something I am a fan of.

So this may not be the correct place to put this however this keeps happening to me. After so many hours of the same game eventually the game randomly tells me that the enemy has been defeated. They still have plenty of ships and planets and in one brutal game i played were beating me when all of a sudden it would say faction defeated. This is after oh about the 8th hr. In one case me and my ally had balancing culture along with the other enemy factions when this happened. Please someone tell me this happens to other people too.

I hear by nickname this bug the 'AI gets Bord Bug' or AIBB

on Mar 18, 2011
The AI takes into account relative fleet strength, economy territory etc. If it feels that it will be unable to win in the long run or even the short run there is always a possibility (depending on which type it is, aggressive, fortifier etc), that it will surrender. It will not always fight to the very bitter end.

do I have to start a new game to see the performance boost?

on Mar 18, 2011

You can't use previously saved games with the patch.

on Mar 19, 2011

Speaking to whomever may be concerned. I can not update or download (from scratch) Sins Trinity 1.2. Update fails with "file smaller" message and full re-install fails with "cant extract files". If the devs (or anyone else) knows what the problem is, YOU should be open about it. Is there a problem or isn't there ?

Try disabling any AV or firewall. Probably messing with the download.
