Not sure if I should post this here or make another thread, but what the hell.

I updated to the new version earlier today, and just a minute ago I noticed some weird issues with my taskbar. The taskbar buttons were getting stuck with the hover glow color, some would start blinking and wouldn't stop off the blink image when I clicked on them, and the taskbar thumbnail preview image was not working. To be fair I also installed a lot of other stuff today/recently (FindeXer, QTTabbar, UltraMon), but I decided WB was the easiest to troubleshoot so I rolled back to the previous archive and now the issues are gone. Correlation or coincidence, I'm not sure.

I think a reboot would have sorted that.  Which restoring the previous archive would do.

A number of the items in that updates list are for XP too.  Things like the new texture creation window, the random wallpaper changer, the new font support etc.

I need any advice how to disable the ugly applying of gray color on IE8 toobar. This spoils my lovely browser which I'm using every day. Moreover - several times per day!

I have the opposite view. That blue toolbar was ugly, the grey has improved it beyond sight. All we need now is grey tabs

Just curious Neil and thanks. With the attitude I see sometimes towards XP by people and the future end of support for it at some stage. I'm just asking so that I'm not updating something that has no effect on what I already have. I wasn't implying anything sinister...I always read whats in the update but since XP isn't mentioned I need to ask these things.

Neil could obviously be more specific, but I think one reason XP isn't mentioned sometimes is many of the new features are taking advantage of technologies that are only in Vista/Win 7.

That's right but only if you didn't edit the IEFRAME.DLL! Less than 1 hour work in Photoshop and I've done my own IE8 Metal Skin (with the tabs by the way!). And now I can't use it because of WB7!

In general (with WindowBlinds & Deskscapes updates), if we list no OSes against a feature it is probably all OSes unless its something obviously specific to one.  If it is specific to OSes we list the OSes it applies to, so XP only, or Vista / 7 only.

XP is certainly more mature as an OS now and there is less to add but that doesn't mean new features do not make it to XP.  There is a Deskscapes update coming this week which has a previously Vista / 7 only feature that now works on XP too.
