The latest talk and hype recently has been the talk of an Apple Tablet, and other tablet PC’s from companies such as HP.  The rumored ‘iSlate’ from Apple is getting the biggest hype and nobody is really sure it exists.  Regardless, is anybody interested in a tablet PC?  Attempts in the past have been unsuccessful for the most part, but with things like the Kindle gaining popularity, it opens a new door for a tablet as a real media device, not just another PC.

What types of features would you like to see in a tablet?  What would really get your interest in getting one?

That's exactly what I'm looking for. OneNote is an excellent piece of software.

Then you will be happy, it works like a charm and even if my writting s*cks, OneNote transforms it to text pretty well when it has to.

Need I tell you what a Doctor's handwriting looks like?

Actually mine isn't bad....but the possibilities with this little jobbie look really super.

I have a tablet convertible laptop now for a couple of years.  I like the looks of the newer 'tablet-only, no convertible' aspect of these devices, but I question practicality.  As it stands, I tend to use the laptop form more than the tablet form.

What I do think might have potential is increasing hardware capabilities of the so-called smartphones.  I will likely have an Android OS powered device shortly, and it will be my first PDA-type device since some old Blackberry and Palm Pilots I used to use religiously.  Beef up the horsepower on those, provide a OneNote-like feature set, and cumbersome tablets might fall by the wayside.

I'm sorry I couldn't find that video...if you saw it, it would have sold you. Really.

*edit: Found it!!! No embed code, but here's the link. It's the one with the sneaker picture on it (the second pic on the page...scroll).

Bleh.... I don't even like laptops!

I am glad to hear you say that.  My laptop stays in it's case and I am mostly glued to my desktop.  A tablet would be one more case in the closet
