Tell me again why government would be more efficient?

VANCOUVER — Vancouver patients needing neurosurgery, treatment for vascular diseases and other medically necessary procedures can expect to wait longer for care, NDP health critic Adrian Dix said Monday.

Dix said a Vancouver Coastal Health Authority document shows it is considering chopping more than 6,000 surgeries in an effort to make up for a dramatic budgetary shortfall that could reach $200 million.

Sounds great.  Maybe ObamaCare will just close on Sundays like the Post Office!

According to the leaked document, Vancouver Coastal — which oversees the budget for Vancouver General and St. Paul’s hospitals, among other health-care facilities — is looking to close nearly a quarter of its operating rooms starting in September and to cut 6,250 surgeries, including 24 per cent of cases scheduled from September to March and 10 per cent of all medically necessary elective procedures this fiscal year.

When I was 16 back in 1978 my legs where crushed in a farming accident. My employer paid into workmen's comp, so I was able to collect for a couple of months. I think I earned about $2.25 an hour then. The harvesting season was almost over and last year of school about to start back up anyway, so it extended my pay considerably for a bit. My employer paid my entire hospital bill. I never signed any papers accepting or declining health care or insurance.

There is a better way and it can come with a bill that passes with votes of 75% of all representatives and it will actually address the actual problems in healthcare without creating a nightmare for all those with insurance today. If the democrats get there way, our country is in very big trouble and we will be broke in ten years (if we are already not broke today with spending like stimulus and clunkers and bailouts)
