Stardock announced today that the demo for Gas Powered Games’ RTS game, Demigod (www.demigodthegame.com), is now available for download. The demo features online Internet multiplayer games, the Cataract map and four playable Demigods (Regulus, Rook, Sedna and Lord Erebus.) All of the gameplay modes (Conquest, Dominate, Fortress and Slaughter) in Demigod are available to play in the demo.

Demigod is the ultimate real-time tactical PC strategy game. For fans of strategic epic large-scale multiplayer battles, Demigod is irresistible.

Players will vanquish other would-be gods, gain levels and unlock the power of mystic artifacts as they battle for ascent to the Pantheon. Take control of an immensely powerful being and defeat your brethren in a series of epic arenas in order to ascend into the pantheon of the gods.

During the course of each battle, players gain experience, purchase equipment, learn magical spells, capture key resources and upgrade their Citadel while working to lay to waste the opposing faction.

Easy to play, hard to master, Demigod is available worldwide digitally via Impulse (www.impulsedriven.com) at the same price ($39.95) no matter where the person is located.

Download the demo now exclusively at FilePlanet.com!

Stardock, why Fileplanet? They make you wait for a long time. Distribute it on places like Filefront and Impulse!

It is on Impulse.

=D Very nice

Its kinda funny that about 24 hours ago I pm'ed frog and asked if there was a Demigod demo out there and now today I can download it via Impulse (I dont even have to mess with fileplanet yea!) Very nice, thanks for the heads up Island Dog.

As for its worthless-ness, I think the demo will be very handy. As a potential buyer, I get to see how well my system handles it, get a taste of the game, and get to answer most of the questions I otherwise plagued frog with.

Before downloading the 600MBs, I wonder if the demo is strictly onllne mulitplayer, or can you play it against AI bots only?

Thanks for the info, thought about trying this game out.

You can play vs AI, but you'll do so via online play (i.e. you need to log in and use the custom game option).

It's only online multiplayer, which includes the bots you can add to your game.

Just dropping in to say to Frogboy that I hope single-player remains the (heavy) focus of elemental, considering how competitive play can so quickly ruin the fun of game (no explicit examples necessary =P).

On another note, I played the Demigod demo and it seems like a pretty fun game, but is it just me or is the map pretty plain compared to Dota's forests and ambushes teeming with monsters?

Great job getting this out SD/GPG!  I've told several of my friends who were on the fence about picking this up.  Hope this draws them and many more into the community.

Thanks for all the extra details, Kryo.  I think I'll be installing this alongside of the game as well.

Did you put that in just to shut me up for once?

It would have been preferable to have the Demo out a lot sooner but still, excellent show guys (finally cracked the whip on Mister Supcom eh?). Quite a few of my friends have been interested from seeing it at the Local LAN sessions, this might just hook them into buying.

6 more sales for Stardock on there way.

Demo players use a separate lobby, however you can freely join #demigoddemo in IRC, and you can install the demo alongside the full game if you want to play with some friends who are looking into the game.

Nice thats a good way to split the community! Why the hell did you do this? Now its even harder to find players to play with...

Your post doesn't seem to make sense. How is a demo that anyone can play dividing the community? I honestly can't see people leaving the full game alone and never touch it again so that can play the demo of the same game.

It is on Impulse.

I can't seem to find it.  My search for Demigod only shows the digital and digital+box editions

In the impulse app. If you enable demos in the orb menu, it'll show on the my games tab.
