Support for Windows Vista
Published on June 2, 2009 By Island Dog In WinCustomize News

Stardock has released an update to the official World of Warcraft Desktop. The suite, created by Stardock Design with both original artwork and in-game interface graphics from Blizzard's popular massively multiplayer game.  The World of Warcraft Desktop uses the MyColors theme manager to apply the WoW suite, without the installation of any other applications.

The WoW MyColors suite includes an updated visual style, with support for both Windows XP and Vista.  Icons are included for the XP version, and some slick WoW wallpapers are also included.

here's a stupid question? Where is the permission or disclaimer from Blizzard allowing the use of their artwork? I know it's allowed but Blizzard does require you to note something to the effect that the artwork is copyright to them, yadayadayada all rights reserved.

Um... considering they call it

the official World of Warcraft Desktop.

I would assume Blizzard has been involved in the making of it...

Also, it's not something that's uploaded to the WC gallery, so those restrictions doesn't apply anyway.

the restrictions apply if anyone uses blizzard graphics... period.

Well, since no one seems to be jumping in here to help with this problem, I just extracted the files and installed each part seperately. That was the only way I could get it to install.

Nice theme if your into that game.   How about a sleak black Guild Wars Theme huh huh?    Any talented skinners into makeing a clean not to " Cartoony " Windows Blind Theme for Guild Wars. sorry I'm a bit bias

Personally I think it would be great if us WindowBlind users were not always forgotten regarding these nice skins. We lose out when it comes to those 12 or whatever the amount is of skins we were suppose to get this year. I think its been something like 5 or 6 skins so far that went straight to MyColors. I was initially under the impression that MyColors was going to be used for things like sports or company themes that wanted encrypted skins...but it seems now that more and more are being encrypted.

And no offense to anyone....but you can't call a MyColors skin a WindowBlind when its encrypted and I can't use WindowBlinds to install it. So I guess I just have to do without it.

We worked with them on this.  It's even posted on their official site.

To me it looks like things are like this:

It's not REALLY an official MyColors suite (or we'd be able to download the suite without a bundled MyColors installation). It's a standalone suite, that happens to use an included version of MyColors as a platform, designed with and for Blizzard who chose to release it free for the public. As such, any compatibility with other Stardock products (such as different versions of MyColors, WindowBlinds, IconPackager) is just a lucky fluke.

It also mucks up Diamond WB and now there is an update for Quest which requires a serial number. I thought it was a free one!

Mebion: Go to the Stardock support page and put the email address you used when downloading MyColors. Your Quest serial number should be in the email you receive. If not, simply go the MyColors Quest page and add it to your account.

IIRC the first version of MyColors came with Quest included in the installation and thus did not require registering it to your account. Now that it does, you simply have to add the theme to your account and all should be fine You can find all the other free themes on this page

I had to extract this thing to use it and I found no icons, and only 1 wall. It says above that there are some really slick WoW walls included. How do I find those?

on Jun 09, 2009
I didn't find icons or any other Walls in the theme.. but I DO love it and I do have a SET of Icons for this I WOULD Like to say that I LOVE this but I would also like MORE support for some other BIG games out there.. Like Sims, Sims 2 and the NEWLY Great Sims 3... Also I play other MMO's like City of Heroes, City of Villains, Guild Wars, Pirates Of the Carribean Online and OTHERS.. I would REALLY like to see if we could get more GAME type things Posted and up for the community Keep up the great work in MYColors Anne
