The green taskbar button looks out of place. Should have carried over the blue from the start menu to tie in the windows, icons and start menu with taskbar.

That can always be changed to suit personal tastes with Windowblinds recolor feature (one of the real benefits of Windowblinds IMO).

Can we get the WB without the encrypted graphics? I would like be able to hide the user picture in the start menu.

I too would like it unencrypted. Would be nice to have the option. Plus I could edit the theme and fix this annoying white line issue as I showed above. With the noise filtered mess its hard to see what I'm doing.

It shouldn't be left up to the consumer to fix design mistakes (mistake being a relative term of course). The green doesn't belong there. It's no where else in the theme.

It's not green for me, more of a light teal color. Nevertheless I agree it should be blue, another thing I could easily do with unencrypted images!

Still don't see it in Impulse  (

The "green"/teal color is based on one of the colors on the death mask of King Tut Ankh Amon, like the rest of the skin is, on the mask. It is used elsewhere in the skin, which this screenshot doesn't really show. Like on the back/forward buttons in Explorer in Vista. Misplaced? No. Design mistake? No. Unless you think that, and that's fine, but then you don't know which color scheme it's based on. Blue color is used for the flashing button. I suppose someone would argue to reverse the two, if they think the green one is soooo out of place.

I'm usually more of one for the dark themes but I am using this on my XP pc right now and think it's a really nice theme.

I knew you created the theme. I can tell your style.

Like i said "design mistakes" are a relative thing. One person's trash is another's treasure.

Blue is more prominent as its on window frames, start menu and button. The flash happens so infrequently that the teal should have been designated for that and the blue should have had a more prominent placement. Just my opinion.

I dunno, im actually liking the teal. It is used in other elements such as the navigation buttons, the icons also have the teal color as well, yes it does stand out but I think thats what I like about it. ...Now if I could only fix this strange white line...

I wouldn't say relative, more like subjective. Your opinion on the choice of color doesn't make the skin flawed, neither does your opinion on the quality of the ankh symbols. You write like you're the final authority on what makes a "perfect" skin. I've seen the creations you've come up with... It all looks good, but they certainly do not contain less "design mistakes" (I mean that they contain bits and pieces which I'd rather see made different) than this skin do.

You really should take the same care in how you voice your opinions on Stardock releases, as your posts around the forums clearly state you expect from them concerning your own products.

It's called an opinion and this is a forum and i don't have to justify my opinions to you.  And I am an authority as i have done this professionally for 10 years. If you want to play by your own rules then you have no right to call me out anymore than i can call out things i see as 'mistakes'. So which is it? Are we allowed to make comments on our forum or should we all sit back like little sheep and say nothing.

And since when is making suggestions wrong? WTF?

And yes it's "subjective" not "relative".

Well with everything said I think it looks great. Thank you for the free skin. While I'm at it I would like to thank everyone for the free skins they provide.

Same color scheme as our 7 year old Age of Mythology theme. Which means our WMP skin would work quite well with this.

You're absolutely right!  I checked it out, and it would make an awesome accompaniment to this skin.  I have one question before I download it (because I have precious little space on my harddrive of late), does your Age of Mythology WMP have a taskbar player with it?  I like to listen to music softly in the background when I'm working, but I have to constantly fiddle with the volume settings, depending on what ELSE I'm listening to (doctors dictating reports that I'm suppose to be transcribing...the quality of audio of which fluctuates constantly between doctors).  If the player doesn't have a taskbar player, then it's too cumbersome for me to use and not worth the drive space.

I'm using it right now so I can answer that for you. Yes,it does minimize to the taskbar. It looks perfect with this theme btw. Like all the TSF WMP skins, the quality and detail is excellent.

The file size for the skin is 1,566 kb so don't worry about the drive space being used.
