The Windows 7 beta has been out for a couple of months now, and one of the biggest requests on the forums is when will a beta for WindowBlinds 7 appear.  Today I put together a quick screencast showing off WindowBlinds 7 running on the latest beta of Windows 7.

Please note this is an early beta, and not representative of the final application.

Enjoy!

Yawn. You're other software contains DRM, yet you are more than happy to use, and dare I announce it 'pirated' material in a video. I suggest you take this down, despite the fact that it is now way past April Fools Day, and that you're not groundbreaking in any way for doing this rick rolling thing. Seriously, if you;re going to do a prank, do one that hasn;t been done before. You must have stayed up really late at night thinking of that one.

Oh come on, it's not like they're trying to gain something (other than a laugh) out if good ol' Ricks (or someone elses) effort.

If I hadn't made the remark about the permission slips, you probably never would have even considered a post like this. You must have stayed up really late at night thinking of that one....

It is an infringement on copyright.  If you consider the Pirate Bay, whose Admins were recently found guilty just of hosting the trackers for people to download software, then aren't you in somewhat of the same boat if you use some or all of someone else's work?

I also don't need to read someone else's posts (permission slips) to be able to make my own post.

Ofcourse not, but it helps.

There are exceptions for "fair use" in the copyright laws. I'd read them before calling this issue infringement.

alfiejs is Australian....and the 'fair use' exceptions pertain to US Interpretations of Copyright Law.

However...

What he doesn't realise is that since the US/AUS 'Free Trade' agreement...signed by Bush and Howard.... we [Australia] now have adopted US Copyright Law interpretation/s too. ...

And we can watch it, but not save it.... thanks to our Minister.... of something.... probably she don't know either.....

So use Finland proxy, while watching it, then save, while you have e.g. Norway proxy on, and kill the entertainment, while you don't find or understand word: Proxy - Use defination feature or ask help from your president.

IsDo do not love me, lmao, but i understand the JOKE!!!! Since when you mind were corrupted, please go to next Doctor, and say loudly and proudly that you are fine..... nowdays you can't.... but blame Microsoft and McDonalds.... and us.... human beings from this planet with intergrated "mistakes"....

Thanks for not listening me,

Nobody

Um, no.  I don't decide what I say or type based on someone elses ramblings.  Copyright infringment is a serious offence.  I am assuming your servers are based in the United States?  In the most litigious society in the world; aren't you taking a massive risk?  Childish to think that as a joke would cut it as a defense in a court of law.  Sorry your honor, I shot him as a joke.  Sory your honour I embezzled the millions of dollars as a joke.  Sorry your honour I infringed copyright of an 80's popster as a joke.

So would it be fair use for me to download windowblinds from a torrent site because I did not want to pay for it?

So file a civil suit if you really think it's similar to killing somebody. It's what I would do.

Well, actually I'd likely report it to the police, and let them do the criminal investigation... But in this case, you'll only be the laugh of the day if you try that.

It sounds like Rick Astley actually has a fan.Who knew?

Here is some advice: Climb upstairs out of your parents basement,go to law school and after you graduate, come back and sue Stardock. While you are studying you could make some awesome,non-boring,fabulous,original WindowBlinds.

No, because 'fair use' as described NOW simply allows Australians to LEGALLY make backup copies of their software/games and LEGALLY transpose purchased music, etc to alternate forms.....yep, ever since the dawn of cassette tapes.....it's now legal via 'fair use' to copy that 12" onto your car cassette/radio.

You DO STILL HAVE TO PURCHASE the original, however.

Ergo....the WB via Torrent is NOT covered....

Yeah....some poor deaf bastard without a clue....

I don't much like dogs.....they shit...they bite small rug-rats....and they almost always smell.....

If only that Astley could sing in their register....we wouldn't suffer.....but......
