if you guys have ideas for more companies, it's cool to tell us at Stardock about it, but you should also go to the forums of those companies and let them know about Impulse there too.  I can't hurt.  The more we spread the word, the better!

I'd suggest Thirdwire www.thirdwire.com - great flight simulations, but I am not sure it fits their business model (very small company). It would be great though to give their "Wings over ..." series a push.

Paradox Games come to Impulse

I gave up trying to find a copy (retail) of Europa Universalis III: Complete here in Toronto.

Amazon.ca doesn't list it either, so I was all set to order from amazon.com but now I may hold off a bit and see if Impulse will carry this title or at least purchase and download EU III +  it's IN & NA expansions, if and when they become available.

All hail Paradox and SD! Two companies well known for good support. May their unholy marriage last atleast over the weekend.

Instead of waiting for the game to be digitally distributed on Impulse, why not buy it from paradox via it's gamersgate?

Because if he waits until it comes to Impulse (assuming it does), then it would only further encourage Paradox to put all their games up on Impulse.

No doubt. Sadly I have more than a dozen titles on GG. All the PI titles and a couple independent ones. I prefer Impulse to GG however. The update system is awkward in my opinion. Hmmm... I just may have to rebuy some titles. So the CD keys wont transfer either? I special ordered the Rome CE pack for the desktop bust as well as got the DD version.

Personally speaking if PI merged (shutdown) GG with Impulse I think it would be a big huge win on both sides and a substantial advantage for gamers.

The only way that will happen is if Stardock buys Paradox, which I wish would happen.

Paradox wants to keep their independence though.

Cool.  Glad to hear that more companies are starting to sign on. Awesome work, Impulse guys!

Now you just need to convince Shrapnelgames to publish their catalogue via Impulse as well

How about trying to get Kohan: Ahriman's Gift out on Impulse?  Given that Timegate and Stardock are fairly close- they should be willing to consider it.

No doubt. SD wants its too. Oh well, wishful thinking is what it is... A very close alliance will serve the both of them well as I said.

i don't have any problem with GG myself.  i just purchased KB-L from them this past weekend as they had it on sale for $19.99.  very fun game btw.

on Jan 15, 2009

speaking of TimeGate, whatever happened with them?  i hope for a Kohan some day that is much more like AG than KOW (KOW sucked imo).  they have hinted to a new Kohan in the past but i haven't heard anything in quite a while.

paradox has some good games-Majesty 2 is on my to buy list when it comes out this year & i have high hopes for Elven Legacy.  i am also still hoping that they bought the MOM license (as implied by this article: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2008/04/20/standing-on-the-shoulders-of-giants/) so we get E-WOM & MOM2.  i know, i'm greedy but what can i say?

on Jan 15, 2009

I was under the impression SD turned it down because to get it SD had to agree to lots concessions and give up control of things. I hope that PI did not make a deal with the devil just to get the name. We would not a MoO3 situation on our hands again. Especially from a company like SD or PI.

I thought they went to console games and planning an MMO that will bankrupt them.

The games we've released so far are just a drop in the bucket of Paradox Goodness we have in store for everyone here.  If there is a Paradox game you've been debating picking up, hold off a bit longer.  It just might show up here before too long.

Per the original announcement, we're getting most of the Paradox catalog.  So chances are good that game you're looking for will be available here soon.

Yes, that includes EU III

Edit: I speel gud
