Congratulations on your victory democrats.

America has chosen to go the route of wanting to the government to take care of their lives, and this election will be the new beginning of the next nanny state where people won't have to worry about anything....the government will be there to help you out.

Obama ran a brilliant marketing campaign that pulled the wool over the eyes of countless Americans.  It will be interesting to see how his supporters react when his marketing "shine" wears off, and we see how his inexperience and socialist leaning affect the true hard working Americans.

But since "fairness" was a theme we heard over and over, I will do my best to treat Obama with the same fairness and respect as democrats did Bush.

In a year where it should probably have been a Democrat landslide (like Reagan winning all but 1 state and DC) it isn't, why not? Why couldn't Obama seal the deal with a very large amount of Americans?

Exactly and look at the gobs of money that was handed to Obama.  I mean really, dollar for dollar, Obama should have received a much higher vote count.

Imagine how there might have been very different outcome if the Obama campaign shared their wealth with the McCain campaign and all things were a bit more equaled out.

If you're up for some amusement, check the Fox News Forums.  There you'll find plenty of people talking about moving to other countries, including Mexico.  You'll find people claiming that the Antichrist has won, the End Times are upon us, the USA will turn into the USSR, blah blah blah.

What amazes me is how quickly people-- on both sides-- jump to suspicion, paranoia, and hatefulness and believe that somehow this will improve the country.  For America's sake, get over yourselves.

If nothing else, some of these comments here and other places have proven once and for all that Republicans and Democrats have more in common than they might care to admit.  Supporters in both parties adhere to the same political mantra:  If you can't win, whine.

I'd rather we wait to see what is actually done by the next administration before we demonize them and declare them a failure preemptively.

I would rather too - but then conservatives are tired of the left and their Bush crucified Christ mentality.

I for one will wait until he screws up.  But I will not be forgiving when I print my "told you sos".

Why are you calling him a socialist? He doesn't even come close to that! There are no socialist politicans in the USA.

Nice little new speak.  I take it either you - A - dont know what socialism is, - B - Dont understand the US, or - C - are trying to lie about what Obama has campaigned on.

Or maybe they don't want the federal government to spend our last dollars destroying what remains of the hope, decency and inspiration that the United States used to represent.

Then why vote for Obama who has promised to do just that?  No, Brad is partially right, and Charles is mostly right.  They were voting against, not for.

What a great day!    The RepubLIE-CONs are basically dead and they can't ruin this country anymore.   Good bye corruption, lies, hypocrisy, greed, and ineptness.    Hello President Obama and the Democratic Congress who can finally get some work done.   Step 1 - start the cleanup of the Dumbya disastrous years.   USA finally got some respect back - the world is a better place and its people know it.    Well done, Voters!   Now, let's amend the US Constitution to make the RepubLIE-CON party illegal and stop the fake, judgmental, hypocritical people who call themselves "Christians" and only care about making all women have all babies and stopping gay people from their US Constitutional right to pursuit of happiness illegal aliens who need to be deported to one hideous state where they can annoy each other and stay out of government and people's private lives.    And good riddance Dumbya Bush, Karl Rove, Dick Cheney and Sarah Airhead Paid Lyin.    It gave me great joy to watch her cry because she did not win the beauty pagent she ran to be this country's VP!    What a terrible, embarrassing joke she is!

President Obama is a beautiful, intelligent, poised, professional, loving, honest man who will do a great job.   He is just what this country and the world needed after 8 dismal years of corruption, hypocrisy and ineptness.   It is a beautiful moment in world history.   Today, I am proud of my country after being humiliated and embarrassed by it during the past 8 years.    New Rule:   No more stupid or unethical people in high government office.   That means you, Sarah Airhead Paid Lyin.  She is a disgusting human being who fought to further divide this country and make the right wing radical crazies angry and violent.   Her career is almost over - now that Alaskans have seen just what they have as a governor.

On the plus side, at least no one on the right is claiming Obama isn't their president etc.  That pissed me off to no end.

I for one will never call Obama the President.  He had the right to not put his hand over his heart for the singing of the National Anthem, I have the right to not call him by is new title.  I think for now on I will just refer to him as BarryO.

Yeah but how does he walk with your head up his ass?

There most certainly are.  There's an entire socialist party in the USA, they even had a candidate running for president although he didn't make it onto most ballots.

Hopefully, in 2 years, the voters will have gained some sense and will vote in a Republican congress. In the meantime, I won't say a word. But every time something bad happens, I will not hold back my "I told you so's." I hope you're ready Leftist's, because now that your favorite punching bag is no longer going to be sitting there, what are you going to do? Now you don't even have a Republican congress to blame it on. Everything falls on your shoulders. Hope your ready. It's going to be a bumpy ride.

Wow, talk about not taking anything from either of the candidates' remarks yesterday.  Some just can't seem to understand.  I guess the message of working together despite disagreements didn't quite get through to everyone.  The blame game is not going to help America solve problems.  Separating from common ground to cling to the party ranks helps no one, and we'll see if Obama can be an effective President while still being critical of his own party at times.  What I do believe is that Obama will be a much better leader for this time than McCain ever could have been.  I'm not saying that McCain would always be a worse choice, but at this time, he didn't have the right ideals for the nation overall, and the election demonstrated this.

Yeah, see; the main problem with BHO is that so many people, especially in the media, are so perfectly willing to overlook any and everything negative. You'd think the guy was an absolute saint.

Even if he falls flat on his face from Innaguration Day onward, will we ever hear it? I doubt it....Joseph Goebbels would be proud of the media we have today.
