I wanted to play much more this weekend, but I did manage to get a few games in.  First up, I have taking on The Political Machine 2008, as I'm trying to get as much play in before the election as I can.  I'm also slowly progressing in Spore.  It's getting kinda old, but I really want to see how it plays out.

On the consoles I played just a bit of Battlefield: Bad Company.  I was looking for a new 360 game to play, but nothing really caught my eye this weekend.

So, what did you play this weekend?

Are you going to ask this every Monday?

Ok, I'll bite.  I played the TA 2.0 beta, focusing entirely on the espionage system.

A bit of ToA, but mostly Civ IV Conolization, the reason being that I've promised my parents that I won't be taking any game disks with me to uni.  I'm trying to finish all my games before I go.

What I haven't told them is that ToA and SOASE don't need disks

I didn't get much gaming time in this weekend as I was out at the Michigan Renaissance Festival most of the day Saturday, and recovering most of Sunday.  What gaming I did manage to get in:

  1. Beat the last level of Crysis (original)
  2. Played some Sid Meier's Colonization, got my butt kicked by Native Americans.

I'm not sure what I'll play this week/coming weekend though.  Trying to watch my gaming budget a bit more closely now.

Yes I am.

Trying to get some gaming discussion going.

Trying to get some gaming discussion going.

Ok.

I did have planned to get some more Rock Band 2 in, but my wife and I were feeling sick, so we didn't go over to our friend's and spread it.  I was SO hoping to up my game into Hard on the guitar, consistant mid 90s or perfects on Medium deserves to up the ante.

This weekend we should be healthy enough to continue rocking out.  GH4's guitar can't come any sooner though ...I hate having to bum someone's guitar every time though.  We picked up a mic for her.

She bounces around on vocals...friggin knocking out some perfects on 80's/90's tunes and either of the Paramore songs while on Medium on that.  Something about Elvis Costello's "Pump it Up" kicks her butt though.

I haven't gotten away from COD4 yet, but I am waiting for COD5 to hit the shelves...I can't wait for the flamethrower!

How is B:BC? I've been meaning to rent it.

BF:BC is very good, it took me away from COD4.  I'm not interested too much in COD5 as the WWII genre is so played out now.

Civ 4: BTS (I'm waiting on my copy of Colonization, so this is a warm up in some sense) and Crusader Kings. Oh, and some Team Fortress 2, because sometimes you have to stop thinking and just blow some people up.

In that sense, I break out Carmageddon 2 and instead of blowing them up, I run them down.

Friday night and into stupid-early hours was Warhammer Online - which is still great.  Got my Disciple of Khaine into tier two PvP, got my butt kicked soundly, but at least I had fun doing it.

All day Saturday was spent trying not to die to the AI in Twilight of the Arnor.  I'm really out of practice, the new and improved AI really has been doing a number on me.  I had to dial it back to Tough. That is awesome, because they're still putting up a good fight on the level where they dont have any bonuses over me.  Stardock. I played multiple games as both the Krynn and Yor - my Yor game is still going.  My Krynn game I chalked up to a learning experience loss.

Sunday morning started off with some Smash Brothers Brawl with my friends, which I am awesome at (and Zero Suit Samus is just plain wrong, which helps.) After that, it was sort of an ADHD gaming day - some King of Fighters on the PC, some more Warhammer Online, some GalCiv, and about mid-evening I started playing the new patch of Spore, which does seem to make the Space Stage more bearable.  Sadly I got a really poor starting position and will probabaly reset the space stage because of it, but at least it's more fun and less rage now.

I had a very eclectic gaming weekend that rolled into the workweek far too soon

I downloaded TOA 1.99 and tried it all weekend. I didn't notice a vast improvement over 1.96. I hope 2.00 will have some additional features over 1.99.

Fired up Civilization III Conquests early Saturday night and was finally crushed by the Mayans around noon on Sunday.  I was one of the few that was happy we had torrential downpours for 48 straight hours.
