Make a list!
Published on July 18, 2008 By Island Dog In Gaming

We are just over the first half of the year, and the fall and winter lineup of games is really starting to take shape.  What are some of the upcoming games you are looking most forward to?  Here's my list.

  1. Demigod
  2. Spore
  3. GhostBusters
  4. Aliens: Colonial Marines
  5. C&C: Red Alert 3

There are quite a few more, but I just can't think of the names right now.

1. Demigod (If you're looking forwards to it, it has to be good)
2. Mirror's Edge (Enough to break EA boycott?)
3. Shadowrun (Someone has to be doing it. Get it right. Matrix, Rigging, Running)

Those are the games I'm looking forwards to. And the third probably will have to be small/unofficial. Who owns Shadowrun now? Contemplating getting some people together to make a remake of the old games. The SNES and Genesis ones. It'd flop, probably, but it would be awesome.

Definately

1. X3 Terran Conflict (cause I love the X Story)

2. Spore (cause it's a real new game)

Only these 2 games could hold me up from modding GC2 for some hours (don't be scared, just a bit ;o) )

  1. Colonization
  2. Demigod
  3. Spore

There's so many good games coming out (who said PC gamings dead), but these are my top three.

Disgaea 3 (PS3)

Fallout 3 (PS3)

Diablo 3- the only PC game I'm looking forward to, but it will mean that I have to buy a new computer since my current one is about 5 years now and can't even play any current games.

Ha! Looks like I'm looking forward to all the sequels.

Spore, except I'll never buy or run it with the DRM malware it currently entails.

And that really, seriously hurts. I've been waiting for Civilization meets SimEarth since, well, Civilization and SimEarth were fancy new games.

I was even very interested in exploring this "masssively single-player online" thing, where you can post creatures and include other players' custom creatures in your game. But this "report that you're playing me if you want to keep playing" stuff is just too much.

I know my attitude seems archaic in the bad sense, but I prefer my multiplayer games to be held around a specific, physical table.

I'm looking forward to a computer that will run new games (I can't even run Civ 4). Most new games don't seem "new" to me. But a few games that look promising are Spore and Cities XL.

Spore and expansions.

Stardock's fantasy game. I have been checking the website every single day since half a year waiting for news of that game. I can't wait for Brad Wardell to announce it, and I can't wait to play the beta.

Left 4 Dead WWW Link looks rather interesting.

It appeals to the semi-retired FPS in me.
What I like most about this particular FPS is that without a supreme team effort, you simply won't survive alone... that simple!
No "running and gunning", twitch-fest here it seems in this game... stay together, conserve ammo, plan your moves, communicate with your colleagues and you will escape.

(and it looks darn scary too)

1. Dawn of War 2 (I love where they are taking it)

2. Demigod (could be in the number 1 spot but nobody knows much yet )

3. Starcraft II, Diablo III, Wrath of the Lich King

4. Operation Flashpoint 2 and Armed Assault 2 (both in direct competition with each other)

5. Whatever Ironclad's and Stardock's next game will be

6. Any game thoughtfully using the new Wiimote addon.
