But will it matter?

Bush has finally done something he should have done years ago, which is to lift the Executive Order on Off-Shore drilling.  However, it really won't do much until Congress gets going and moves to take action.  I'm also pretty sure they won't, but what else to you expect from a Congress with 9% ratings.

Republicans should be making this a primary issue and nail democrats for doing nothing, but once again, I'm sure they are too afraid of being labeled something instead of standing up for the issues.

You guys need to wake up! Do we hear the oil companies complaining about offshore drilling or any other place to drill for oil? No, because they have approximately 50 to 60 million acres of leased federal land including offshore with oil deposits, in which they have not drilled a single well. Even if the oil companies were given 30 to 40 million more acres of offshore land, who’s to say they would drill a single well and who would make them if they didn’t? you guys should be ashamed of yourselves to believe that the oil companies want to produce more oil for less money--Competition is the key and alternative energy is the only way.

YOu contradict yourself. The only way for alternative energy to be viable, the price of oil has to go through the roof (it is). You do not promote your competitors, and yet that is what you are accusing the oil companies of doing.

I agree and I hope the price of oil continue to rise. More hybrids, please!

An honest opinion! And in the end, for those advocating alternatives, the only real solution. It is good too see some honest people in that respect. I agree with you, but you are not going to win many friends with that opinion. But then medicine rarely tastes good, but usually is good for you.

Amen to that, personally I think that's where we are stuck.  Everyone is afraid to say ANYTHING about their true beliefs and therefore we elect a president that we truely do not know.
