Giveawayoftheday.com has a fantastic piece of software up for grabs today.  Evernote (beta), which is an application that allows you to take notes, web clipping, images, etc. and keep them in order.  This new version (still in beta) also allows you to synchronize your notes with other computers that you have Evernote installed on.

There is a Mac and Windows Mobile version that is currently in private beta, but you can get access to that as well.  I found this via Lifehacker and they say the current beta will allow you to update to other betas and the final application when released.

Features of Evernote:

  • Access notes across multiple platforms: Windows, Mac (OS X 10.5), Web, Windows Mobile, Mobile Web Browser;
  • Full synchronization across all platforms;
  • Powerful image recognition and search for printed and handwritten text in images;
  • Email and MMS snapshots and text from your mobile phone to your personalized Evernote email address;
  • Windows and Mac clients allow local-only notebooks, which will not synchronize with the Evernote Service.

Remember, this is good for today only, so there is only a few hours left.

I tried it. It is a good program and worked as advertised but I felt that I didn't need it. Sometimes things that are supposed to make things easier just make things more complicated. It wasn't a matter of not understanding how to use the program. I don't have multiple PC's or fancy cell phones or Windows Mobile or Mobile Web Browser so I don't need that aspect of the program. I don't like having my stuff on their server either. I know you don't have to use that part of it but that kind of defeats the purpose of the program. I can keep my "stuff" organized without Evernote. It does work as they say though. It would be good for some people. I uninstalled it.

Yeah, it isn't an application for everyone, but someone it is great for someone who needs it.

Been using it for years. I love it.

This is true, That is why I keep a separate stickies note on my desktop. But I love having a Stardock receipt up on my browser and just hitting one button I have it saved on all computers.

I've had the program for sometime now. It does not compare with my MS One Note in MS Office 2007. Which is what I use and another good program for my other stuff on the run in my portable flash drive. Which I'm able to import contacts from Outlook and other applications. Is Essential PIM Pro ! Iuse it and Open Office a lot and it saves me tons of time. But my One Note and Groove really does all the work. I can keep up with so much stuff better and faster it seems. The new Office is the best thing there is you ask me. I would not use anything else.
