I installed this release last night and found it very stable and fast.  Probably a good idea I waited before commenting.

I have used Firefox for years now, but I just built a new computer with Vista and the protection that seems to be afforded to IE 7 running in Protected Mode has me intrigued. What (if any) seems to be the consensus on EI 8 in Protected Mode versus Firefox 3 as far as security?

They are both so new, not sure that there is anything out yet.

I'm so tired of betas. I want the final product already. And i hope FF 3 doesn't have the awful memory leak 2 has.

I would like to try the beta, but don't want to uninstall FF 2. Can I do this?

I have both installed, the beta installs in a separate folder. Can only run one or the other at one time, when closing one then opening other it will do that annoying compatibility check every time switching.

I installed the portable edition directly into a folder on my main drive. It works great and no compatibility prompts. Thanks for sharing the wisdom! Now to get surfing and see how it works for me.
