I've downloaded both Office Pro Plus 2007 & Vista Beta (4358). I'm impressed with Office thus far - a number of very usable features and so far, nothing I've not been able to open/view/save from prior versions of Office (2003). Vista on the other hand is simply too Beta at this point for me to be able to perform serious testing. Most of my apps will not work. Either they won't install or once installed, won't work. I spent most of my time reporting these software / app issues so hopefully they will look into fixing some of them (mainstream software). I truly believe that there are a suprising number of issues with Vista, considering how long it's been in development. BTW - I performed the following installs: Clean on a separate partition, an upgrade over XP Home SP2 (worked the best under this environment) and a completely clean install by itself. If I could do a little more with it, I'd probably still be using it. Also, the eye-candy is good, but really nothing I can't get through Stardock. More to follow I'm sure ---

EltonFan -
Not true with regards to the legality of running this software. I subscribe to TechNet and even if I did not, this is a "Public Beta Release", available through Microsoft. Once you have signed in, they ship you a valid product key and expect you to use it.

Vista does work pretty well on my computer, but then its only 6 months old. Software isnt too bad either. Except Windowblinds and Desktop X does not work, even the latest 3.19(a) edition of DX doesnt work. A BIG shame as it's now got external scripts!

Hm. I wonder what Vista version they tested DX on since they said it was Vista compatible...

I am wondering whether Desktop X itself works on Vista or just its widgets? I will try it now and let you know
